Leviticus 22-24

Leviticus 22

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they hallow to me, and that they profane not my holy name: I am Yahweh. 3 Say to them, Whoever he is of all your seed throughout your generations, that approaches to the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow to Yahweh, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Yahweh. 4 Whatever man of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or has an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. And whoever touches any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goes from him; 5 or whoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has; 6 the soul that touches any such shall be unclean until the evening, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathes his flesh in water. 7 And when the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread. 8 That which dies of itself, or is torn of beasts, he shall not eat, to defile himself with it: I am Yahweh. 9 They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die in it, if they profane it: I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.

10 No stranger shall eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest’s, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. 11 But if a priest buys any soul, the purchase of his money, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they shall eat of his bread. 12 And if a priest’s daughter is married to a stranger, she shall not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things. 13 But if a priest’s daughter is a widow, or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s bread: but there shall no stranger eat of it. 14 And if a man eats of the holy thing through ignorance, then he shall add the fifth part of it to it, and shall give to the priest the holy thing. 15 And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to Yahweh, 16 and so cause them to bear the iniquity that brings guilt, when they eat their holy things: for I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.

17 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 18 Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, Whoever he is of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that offers his oblation, whether it is any of their vows, or any of their freewill-offerings, which they offer to Yahweh for a burnt-offering; 19 that you may be accepted, you shall offer a male without blemish, of the bullocks, of the sheep, or of the goats. 20 But whatever has a blemish, that should you not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. 21 And whoever offers a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahweh to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish in it. 22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having sores, or scab, or scabbed, you shall not offer these to Yahweh, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Yahweh. 23 Either a bullock or a lamb that has anything superfluous or lacking in his parts, that may you offer for a freewill-offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted. 24 That which has its stones bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut, you shall not offer to Yahweh; neither shall you do thus in your land. 25 Neither from the hand of a foreigner shall you offer the bread of your Elohim of any of these; because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

26 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be under its mother seven days; and from the eighth day and from then on it shall be accepted for the oblation of an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 28 And whether it be cow or ewe, you shall not kill it and its young both in one day. 29 And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahweh, you shall sacrifice it that you may be accepted. 30 On the same day it shall be eaten; you shall leave none of it until the morning: I am Yahweh. 31 Therefore you shall keep my commandments, and do them: I am Yahweh. 32 And you shall not profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am Yahweh who hallows you, 33 who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim: I am Yahweh.

Leviticus 23

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, The set feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts. 3 Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no manner of work: it is a sabbath to Yahweh in all your dwellings.

4 These are the set feasts of Yahweh, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their appointed season. 5 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, is Yahweh’s passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahweh: seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day you shall have a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work. 8 But you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh seven days: in the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work.

9 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 10 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When you have come into the land which I will give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring the sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest: 11 and he shall wave the sheaf before Yahweh, to be accepted for you: on the day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And in the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a he-lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt-offering to Yahweh. 13 And the meal-offering of it shall be two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire to Yahweh for a sweet savor; and the drink-offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. 14 And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until this very day, until you have brought the oblation of your Elohim: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

15 And you shall count from the day after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave-offering; seven sabbaths shall there be complete: 16 even to the day after the seventh sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meal-offering to Yahweh. 17 You shall bring out of your habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth parts of an ephah: they shall be of fine flour, they shall be baked with leaven, for first-fruits to Yahweh. 18 And you shall present with the bread seven lambs without blemish a year old, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be a burnt-offering to Yahweh, with their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh. 19 And you shall offer one he-goat for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace-offerings. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first-fruits for a wave-offering before Yahweh, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Yahweh for the priest. 21 And you shall make proclamation on this very day; there shall be a holy convocation to you; you shall do no servile work: it is a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

22 And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest: you shall leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

23 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 24 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall do no servile work; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh.

26 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 27 On the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation to you, and you shall afflict your souls; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 28 And you shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement for you before Yahweh your Elohim. 29 For whatever soul it is that shall not be afflicted in that same day; he shall be cut off from his people. 30 And whatever soul it is that does any manner of work in that same day, that soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 You shall do no manner of work: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your sabbath.

33 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 34 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days to Yahweh. 35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work. 36 Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh: on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh: it is a solemn assembly; you shall do no servile work.

37 These are the set feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh, a burnt-offering, and a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day; 38 besides the sabbaths of Yahweh, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your free-will-offerings, which you give to Yahweh.

39 On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you shall keep the feast of Yahweh seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. 40 And you shall have taken on the first day the fruit of good trees, branches of palm-trees, and boughs of thick trees and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your Elohim seven days. 41 And you shall keep it a feast to Yahweh seven days in the year: it is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall keep it in the seventh month. 42 You shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home-born in Israel shall dwell in booths; 43 that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim. 44 And Moses declared to the children of Israel the set feasts of Yahweh.

Leviticus 24

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually. 3 Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. 4 He shall keep in order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before Yahweh continually.

5 And you shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts of an ephah shall be in one cake. 6 And you shall set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Yahweh. 7 And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 8 Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh continually; it is on the behalf of the children of Israel, an everlasting covenant. 9 And it shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire by a perpetual statute.

10 And the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and the son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel fought together in the camp: 11 and the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. And his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. 12 And they put him in ward, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of Yahweh.

13 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 14 Bring him forth that has cursed outside the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. 15 And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his Elohim shall bear his sin. 16 And he that blasphemes the name of Yahweh, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemes the name of Yahweh, shall be put to death. 17 And he that beats any man to death shall surely be put to death. 18 And he that beats a beast to death shall make it good, life for life. 19 And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him: 20 breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be rendered to him. 21 And he that kills a beast shall make it good: and he that kills a man shall be put to death. 22 You shall have one manner of law, as well for the sojourner, as for the home-born: for I am Yahweh your Elohim. 23 And Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they brought him forth that had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. And the children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Leviticus 19-21

Leviticus 19

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them, You shall be holy; for I Yahweh your Elohim am holy. 3 Every man of you shall fear his mother, and his father; and you shall keep my sabbaths: I am Yahweh your Elohim. 4 Turn not to idols, nor make to yourselves molten elohim: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

5 And when you offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahweh, you shall offer it that you may be accepted. 6 It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day: and if any remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire. 7 And if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted: 8 but every one that eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of Yahweh: and that soul shall be cut off from his people.

9 And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest. 10 And you shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

11 You shall not steal; neither shall you deal falsely, nor lie to one another. 12 And you shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your Elohim: I am Yahweh.

13 You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. 14 You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind: but you shall fear your Elohim: I am Yahweh.

15 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not respect the face of the poor, nor honor the face of the mighty; but in righteousness you shall judge your neighbor. 16 You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor: I am Yahweh.

17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yahweh.

19 You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle mate with a different kind: you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon you a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together. 20 And whoever lies carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 21 And he shall bring his trespass-offering to Yahweh, to the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering. 22 And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Yahweh for his sin which he has sinned: and the sin which he has sinned shall be forgiven him.

23 And when you shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then you shall count the fruit of it as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised to you; it shall not be eaten. 24 But in the fourth year all the fruit of it shall be holy, for giving praise to Yahweh. 25 And in the fifth year you shall eat of the fruit of it, that it may yield to you the increase of it: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

26 You shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall you use enchantments, nor practice sorcery. 27 You shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shall you mar the corners of your beard. 28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks on yourselves: I am Yahweh.

29 Do not profane your daughter, to make her a harlot; lest the land falls to whoredom, and the land becomes full of wickedness. 30 You shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yahweh.

31 Turn not to them that have familiar spirits, nor to the wizards; seek them not, to be defiled by them: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

32 You shall rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of the old man, and you shall fear your Elohim: I am Yahweh.

33 And if a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. 34 The stranger that sojourns with you shall be to you as the home-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

35 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. 36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall you have: I am Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37 And you shall observe all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them: I am Yahweh.

Leviticus 20

1 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saving, 2 Moreover, you shall say to the children of Israel, Whoever he is of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that gives of his seed to Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3 I also will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he has given of his seed to Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. 4 And if the people of the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he gives of his seed to Molech, and put him not to death; 5 then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that play the harlot after him, to play the harlot with Molech, from among their people.

6 And the soul that turns to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards, to play the harlot after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. 7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am Yahweh your Elohim. 8 And you shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am Yahweh who sanctifies you. 9 For every one that curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

10 And the man that commits adultery with another man’s wife, even he that commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. 11 And the man that lies with his father’s wife has uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. 12 And if a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them. 13 And if a man lies with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. 14 And if a man takes a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there is no wickedness among you. 15 And if a man lies with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and you shall kill the beast. 16 And if a woman approaches unto any beast, and lies down thereto, you shall kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

17 And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and she sees his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people he has uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity. 18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people. 19 And you shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, nor of your father’s sister; for he has made naked his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity. 20 And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. 21 And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is impurity: he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.

22 You shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them; that the land, where I bring you to dwell in, vomits you not out. 23 And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation, which I cast out before you: For they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. 24 But I have said to you, You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey: I am Yahweh your Elohim, who has separated you from the peoples. 25 You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean: and you shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by bird, or by any thing with which the ground teems, which I have separated from you as unclean. 26 And you shall be holy to me: for I Yahweh am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that you should be mine.

27 A man also or a woman that has a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 21

And Yahweh said to Moses, Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, None shall defile himself for the dead among his people; 2 except for his kin, that is near to him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother, 3 and for his sister a virgin, that is near to him, that has had no husband; for her may he defile himself. 4 He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself. 5 They shall not make baldness on their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. 6 They shall be holy to their Elohim, and not profane the name of their Elohim; for the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, the bread of their Elohim; they do offer: therefore they shall be holy. 7 They shall not take a woman that is a harlot, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy to his Elohim. 8 You shall sanctify him therefore; for he offers the bread of your Elohim: he shall be holy to you; for I Yahweh, who sanctify you, am holy. 9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profanes her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, on whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor rend his clothes; 11 neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother; 12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his Elohim; for the crown of the anointing oil of his Elohim is on him: I am Yahweh. 13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity. 14 A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, a harlot, these shall he not take: but a virgin of his own people shall he take to wife. 15 And he shall not profane his seed among his people: for I am Yahweh who sanctifies him.

16 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying 17 Speak to Aaron, saying, Whoever he is of your seed throughout their generations that has a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his Elohim. 18 For whatever man he is that has a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that has a flat nose, or anything superfluous, 19 or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed, 20 a hunchback or a dwarf, or that has a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or has his stones broken: 21 no man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that has a blemish, shall come near to offer the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: he has a blemish; he shall not come near to offer the bread of his Elohim. 22 He shall eat the bread of his Elohim, both of the most holy, and of the holy: 23 only he shall not go in to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a blemish; that he profanes not my sanctuaries: for I am Yahweh who sanctifies them. 24 So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.

Leviticus 16-18

Leviticus 16

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before Yahweh, and died; 2 and Yahweh said to Moses, Speak to Aaron your brother, that he comes not at all times into the holy place within the veil, before the mercy-seat which is upon the ark; that he does not die: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy-seat. 3 With this shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering. 4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen trousers on his flesh, and shall be girded with the linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: they are the holy garments; and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and put them on. 5 And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two he-goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering.

6 And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house. 7 And he shall take the two goats, and set them before Yahweh at the door of the tent of meeting. 8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for Yahweh, and the other lot for Azazel. 9 And Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for Yahweh, and offer him for a sin-offering. 10 But the goat, on which the lot fell for Azazel, shall be set alive before Yahweh, to make atonement for him, to send him away for Azazel into the wilderness.

11 And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin-offering which is for himself: 12 and he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Yahweh, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it inside the veil: 13 and he shall put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy-seat that is on the testimony, that he does not die: 14 and he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy-seat on the east; and before the mercy-seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

15 Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood inside the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it on the mercy-seat, and before the mercy-seat: 16 and he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins: and so shall he do for the tent of meeting, that dwells with them in the middle of their uncleannesses. 17 And there shall be no man in the tent of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. 18 And he shall go out to the altar that is before Yahweh, and make atonement for it, and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it all around on the horns of the altar. 19 And he shall sprinkle of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Israel.

20 And when he has made an end of atoning for the holy place, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat: 21 and Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a man that is in readiness into the wilderness: 22 and the goat shall bear all their iniquities to a solitary land: and he shall let the goat go in the wilderness.

23 And Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there: 24 and he shall bathe his flesh in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt-offering and the burnt-offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people. 25 And the fat of the sin-offering shall he burn on the altar. 26 And he that lets the goat go for Azazel shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp. 27 And the bullock of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung. 28 And he that burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

29 And it shall be a statute forever to you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no manner of work, the home-born, or the stranger that sojourns among you: 30 for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins shall you be clean before Yahweh. 31 It is a sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls; it is a statute forever. 32 And the priest, who shall be anointed and who shall be consecrated to be priest in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments: 33 and he shall make atonement for the holy sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. 34 And this shall be an everlasting statute to you, to make atonement for the children of Israel because of all their sins once in the year.  And he did as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Leviticus 17

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded, saying, 3 Whatever man there is of the house of Israel, that kills an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that kills it outside the camp, 4 and has not brought it to the door of the tent of meeting, to offer it as an oblation to Yahweh before the tabernacle of Yahweh: blood shall be imputed to that man; he has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people: 5 to the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they sacrifice in the open field, even that they may bring them to Yahweh, to the door of the tent of meeting, to the priest, and sacrifice them for sacrifices of peace-offerings to Yahweh. 6 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of Yahweh at the door of the tent of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet savor to Yahweh. 7 And they shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices to the he-goats, after which they play the harlot. This shall be a statute forever to them throughout their generations.

8 And you shall say to them, Whatever man there is of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that offers a burnt-offering or sacrifice, 9 and brings it not to the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it to Yahweh; that man shall be cut off from his people.

10 And whatever man there is of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eats any manner of blood, I will set my face against that soul that eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life. 12 Therefore I said to the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourns among you eat blood. 13 And what man there is of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten: he shall pour out the blood of it, and cover it with dust.

14 For as to the life of all flesh, the blood of it is all one with the life of it: therefore I said to the children of Israel, You shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh; for the life of all flesh is the blood of it: whoever eats it shall be cut off. 15 And every soul that eats that which dies of itself, or that which is torn of beasts, whether he is home-born or a sojourner, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening: then shall he be clean. 16 But if he washes them not, nor bathes his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.

Leviticus 18

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, I am Yahweh your Elohim. 3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, in which you dwelt, you shall not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, where I bring you, you shall not do; neither shall you walk in their statutes. 4 My ordinances you shall do, and my statutes you shall keep, to walk in it: I am Yahweh your Elohim. 5 You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances; which if a man does, he shall live in them: I am Yahweh.

6 None of you shall approach to any that are near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am Yahweh. 7 The nakedness of your father, even the nakedness of your mother, you shall not uncover: she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness. 8 The nakedness of your father’s wife you shall not uncover: it is your father’s nakedness. 9 The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness you shall not uncover. 10 The nakedness of your son’s daughter, or of your daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness you shall not uncover: for theirs is your own nakedness. 11 The nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, fathered by your father, she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 12 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister: she is your father’s near kinswoman. 13 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister: for she is your mother’s near kinswoman. 14 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother, you shall not approach his wife: she is your aunt. 15 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law: she is your son’s wife; you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife: it is your brother’s nakedness. 17 You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter; you shall not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are near kinswomen: it is wickedness. 18 And you shall not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival to her, to uncover her nakedness, besides the other in her life-time.

19 And you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness. 20 And you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, to defile yourself with her. 21 And you shall not give any of your seed to make them pass through the fire to Molech; neither shall you profane the name of your Elohim: I am Yahweh. 22 You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 And you shall not lie with any beast to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie down with it: it is confusion.

24 Defile not yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you; 25 and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity of it on it, and the land vomits out her inhabitants. 26 Therefore you shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the homeborn, nor the stranger that sojourns among you: 27 (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land is defiled;) 28 that the land vomits not you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. 29 For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people. 30 Therefore you shall keep my charge, that you practice not any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you defile not yourselves in it: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

Leviticus 13-15

Leviticus 13

And Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying 2 When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes in the skin of his flesh the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons the priests: 3 and the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and if the hair in the plague has turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is the plague of leprosy; and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean. 4 And if the bright spot is white in the skin of his flesh, and the appearance of it is not deeper than the skin, and the hair of it is not turned white, then the priest shall shut up him that has the plague seven days: 5 and the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if in his eyes the plague is unchanged, and the plague is not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up seven days more: 6 and the priest shall look on him again the seventh day; and, behold, if the plague is dim, and the plague is not spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean. 7 But if the scab spreads in the skin, after he has showed himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again: 8 and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the scab is spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is leprosy.

9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought to the priest;10 and the priest shall look; and, behold, if there is a white rising in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the rising, 11 it is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean: he shall not shut him up; for he is unclean. 12 And if the leprosy breaks out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin of him that has the plague from his head even to his feet, as far as appears to the priest; 13 then the priest shall look; and, behold, if the leprosy has covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that has the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean. 14 But whenever raw flesh appears in him, he shall be unclean. 15 And the priest shall look on the raw flesh, and pronounce him unclean: the raw flesh is unclean: it is leprosy. 16 Or if the raw flesh turns again, and is changed to white, then he shall come to the priest; 17 and the priest shall look on him; and, behold, if the plague has turned to white, then the priest shall pronounce him clean that has the plague: he is clean.

18 And when the flesh has in the skin of it a boil, and it is healed, 19 and in the place of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be showed to the priest; 20 and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the appearance of it is lower than the skin, and the hair of it has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy, it has broken out in the boil. 21 But if the priest looks on it, and, behold, there are no white hairs in it, and it is not lower than the skin, but is dim; then the priest shall shut him up seven days: 22 and if it spreads abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague. 23 But if the bright spot stays in its place, and is not spread, it is the scar of the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

24 Or when the flesh has in the skin of it a burning by fire, and the raw flesh of the burning becomes a bright spot, reddish-white, or white; 25 then the priest shall look upon it; and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot has turned white, and the appearance of it is deeper than the skin; it is leprosy, it has broken out in the burning: and the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy. 26 But if the priest looks on it, and, behold, there is no white hair in the bright spot, and it is no lower than the skin, but is dim; then the priest shall shut him up seven days: 27 and the priest shall look on him the seventh day: if it spreads abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy. 28 And if the bright spot stays in its place, and is not spread in the skin, but is dim; it is the rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is the scar of the burning.

29 And when a man or woman has a plague on the head or on the beard, 30 then the priest shall look on the plague; and, behold, if the appearance of it is deeper than the skin, and there is in it yellow thin hair, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a scab, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard. 31 And if the priest looks on the plague of the scab, and, behold, the appearance of it is not deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest shall shut up him that has the plague of the scab seven days: 32 and in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague; and, behold, if the scab has not spread, and there is in it no yellow hair, and the appearance of the scab is not deeper than the skin, 33 then he shall be shaved, but the scab he shall not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that has the scale seven days more: 34 and in the seventh day the priest shall look on the scab; and, behold, if the scab has not spread in the skin, and the appearance of it is not deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean, 35 But if the scab spreads abroad in the skin after his cleansing, 36 then the priest shall look on him; and, behold, if the scab has spread in the skin, the priest shall not look for the yellow hair; he is unclean. 37 But if in his eyes the scab is unchanged, and black hair is grown up in it; the scab is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

38 And when a man or a woman has in the skin of the flesh bright spots, even white bright spots; 39 then the priest shall look; and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh are of a dull white, it is a rash, it has broken out in the skin; he is clean.

40 And if a man’s hair has fallen off his head, he is bald; yet he is clean. 41 And if his hair has fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead bald; yet he is clean. 42 But if there is in the bald head, or the bald forehead, a reddish-white plague; it is leprosy breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead. 43 Then the priest shall look upon him; and, behold, if the rising on the plague is reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the flesh; 44 he is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall surely pronounce him unclean; his plague is in his head.

45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and the hair of his head shall go loose, and he shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. 46 All the days in which the plague is in him he shall be unclean; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; outside the camp shall his dwelling be.

47 The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it is a woolen garment, or a linen garment; 48 whether it is in woven or knitted stuff; of linen, or of woolen; whether in a skin, or in anything made of skin; 49 if the plague is greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, or in the woven or knitted stuff, or in anything of skin; it is the plague of leprosy, and shall be showed to the priest: 50 and the priest shall look on the plague, and shut up that which has the plague seven days: 51 and he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague has spread in the garment, either in the woven or knitted stuff, or in the skin, whatever service skin is used for; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean. 52 And he shall burn the garment, whether the woven or knitted stuff, in woolen or in linen, or anything of skin, in which the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.

53 And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague has not spread in the garment, either in the woven or knitted stuff, or in anything of skin; 54 then the priest shall command that they wash the thing in which the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more: 55 and the priest shall look, after the plague is washed; and, behold, if the plague has not changed its color, and the plague has not spread, it is unclean; you shall burn it in the fire: it is a fret, whether the bareness be inside or outside.

56 And if the priest looks, and, behold, the plague is dim after the washing of it, then he shall tear it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the woven or knitted stuff. 57 and if it appears still in the garment, either in the woven or knitted stuff, or in anything of skin, it is breaking out: you shall burn that in which the plague is with fire. 58 And the garment, either the woven or knitted stuff, or whatever thing of skin it is, which you shall wash, if the plague has departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.

59 This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woolen or linen, either in the woven or knitted stuff, or anything of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

Leviticus 14

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: he shall be brought to the priest: 3 and the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, 4 then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: 5 and the priest shall command to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water. 6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: 7 and he shall sprinkle on him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let go the living bird into the open field. 8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days. 9 And it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he-lambs without blemish, and one ewe-lamb a year old without blemish, and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil. 11 And the priest that cleanses him shall set the man that is to be cleansed, and those things, before Yahweh, at the door of the tent of meeting. 12 And the priest shall take one of the he-lambs, and offer him for a trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave-offering before Yahweh: 13 and he shall kill the he-lamb in the place where they kill the sin-offering and the burnt-offering, in the place of the sanctuary: for as the sin-offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass-offering: it is most holy: 14 and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot. 15 And the priest shall take of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand; 16 and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh: 17 and of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the blood of the trespass-offering: 18 and the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh. 19 And the priest shall offer the sin-offering, and make atonement for him that is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt-offering; 20 and the priest shall offer the burnt-offering and the meal-offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

21 And if he is poor, and cannot get so much, then he shall take one he-lamb for a trespass-offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal-offering, and a log of oil; 22 and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering. 23 And on the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting, before Yahweh: 24 and the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave-offering before Yahweh. 25 And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass offering, and put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot. 26 And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand; 27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahweh: 28 and the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass-offering: 29 and the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Yahweh. 30 And he shall offer one of the turtle-doves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to get, 31 even such as he is able to get, the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, with the meal-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for him that is to be cleansed before Yahweh. 32 This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to get that which pertains to his cleansing.

33 And Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 34 When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I am giving to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession; 35 then he that owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, There seems to me to be a plague in the house. 36 And the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes in to see the plague, that all that is in the house is not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house: 37 and he shall look on the plague; and, behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and the appearance of it is lower than the wall; 38 then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days. 39 And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look; and, behold, if the plague has spread in the walls of the house; 40 then the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which the plague is, and cast them into an unclean place outside the city: 41 and he shall cause the house to be scraped all around inside, and they shall pour out the mortar, that they scrape off, outside the city into an unclean place: 42 and they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house.

43 And if the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house, after he has taken out the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it is plastered; 44 then the priest shall come in and look; and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean. 45 And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber of it, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place. 46 Moreover he that goes into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening. 47 And he that lies in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 And if the priest shall come in, and look, and behold, the plague has not spread in the house, after the house was plastered; then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed. 49 And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: 50 and he shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water; 51 and he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times: 52 and he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet: 53 but he shall let the living bird go out of the city into the open field: so he shall make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean.

54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and for a scab, 55 and for the leprosy of a garment, and for a house, 56 and for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot; 57 to teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

Leviticus 15

And Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When any man has an issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean. 3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh runs with his issue, or his flesh is stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. 4 Every bed on which he that has the issue lies shall be unclean; and every thing on which he sits shall be unclean. 5 And whoever touches his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 6 And he that sits on anything on which he that has the issue sat shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 7 And he that touches the flesh of him that has the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 8 And if he that has the issue spits on him that is clean, then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 9 And whatever saddle he that has the issue rides on shall be unclean. 10 And whoever touches anythingthat was under him shall be unclean until the evening: and he that bears those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 11 And whomever he that has the issue touches, without having rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 12 And the earthen vessel, which he that has the issue touches, shall be broken; and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

13 And when he that has an issue is cleansed of his issue, then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes; and he shall bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean. 14 And on the eighth day he shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, and come before Yahweh to the door of the tent of meeting, and give them to the priest: 15 and the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh for the issue.

16 And if any man’s seed of copulation goes out from him, then he shall bathe all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the evening. 17 And every garment, and every skin, on which is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the evening. 18 The woman also with whom a man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe them-selves in water, and be unclean until the evening.

19 And if a woman has an issue, and her issue in her flesh is blood, she shall be in her impurity seven days: and whoever touches her shall be unclean until the evening. 20 And everything that she lies on in her impurity shall be unclean: everything also that she sits on shall be unclean. 21 And whoever touches her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 22 And whoever touches any thing that she sits on shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 23 And if it is on the bed, or on any thing on which she sits, when he touches it, he shall be unclean until the evening. 24 And if any man lies with her, and her impurity is upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and every bed on which he lies shall be unclean.

25 And if a woman has an issue of her blood many days not in the time of her impurity, or if she has an issue beyond the time of her impurity; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness she shall be as in the days of her impurity: she is unclean. 26 Every bed on which she lies all the days of her issue shall be to her as the bed of her impurity: and everything on which she sits shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her impurity. 27 And whoever touches those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 28 But if she is cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days and after that she shall be clean. 29 And on the eighth day she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, and bring them to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting. 30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her before Yahweh for the issue of her uncleanness.

31 In this manner shall you separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is in the middle of them.

32 This is the law of him that has an issue, and of him whose seed of copulation goes from him, so that he is unclean by it; 33 and of her that is sick with her impurity, and of him that has an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lies with her that is unclean.

Leviticus 10-12

Leviticus 10

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before Yahweh, which he had not commanded them. 2 And there came forth fire from before Yahweh, and devoured them, and they died before Yahweh. 3 Then Moses said to Aaron, This is it that Yahweh spoke, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.  And Aaron held his peace. 4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, Draw near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. 5 So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said. 6 And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons, Do not uncover your heads, neither rend your clothes; that you do not die, and that he is not angry with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, mourn the burning which Yahweh has kindled. 7 And you shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of Yahweh is on you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

8 And Yahweh spoke to Aaron, saying, 9 Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, or your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, that you die not: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations: 10 and that you may make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean; 11 and that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Yahweh has spoken to them by Moses.

12 And Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meal-offering that remains of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy; 13 and you shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your portion, and your sons’ portion, of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: for so I am commanded. 14 And the wave-breast and the heave-thigh you shall eat in a clean place, you, and your sons, and your daughters with you: for they are given as your portion, and your sons’ portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace-offerings of the children of Israel. 15 The heave-thigh and the wave-breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave-offering before Yahweh: and it shall be yours, and your sons’ with you, as a portion forever; as Yahweh has commanded.

16 And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin-offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying, 17 Why have you not eaten the sin-offering in the place of the sanctuary, seeing it is most holy, and he has given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Yahweh? 18 Behold, the blood of it was not brought into the sanctuary inside: you should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded. 19 And Aaron spoke to Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin-offering and their burnt-offering before Yahweh; and there has happened to me such things as these: and if I had eaten the sin-offering today, would it have been well-pleasing in the sight of Yahweh? 20 And when Moses heard that, it was well-pleasing in his sight.

Leviticus 11

And Yahweh Spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, These are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. 3 Whatever has a split hoof completely divided, and chews the cud, among the beasts, that may you eat. 4 Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have a split hoof: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is unclean to you. 5 And the coney, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof it is unclean to you. 6 And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof it is unclean to you. 7 And the swine, because it has a split hoof, completely divided, but chews not the cud, it is unclean to you. 8 Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.

9 These may you eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you, 11 and they shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat of their flesh, and their carcasses you shall have in abomination. 12 Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.

13 And these you shall have in abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the black vulture, 14 and the kite, and the falcon after its kind, 15 every raven after its kind, 16 and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-mew, and the hawk after its kind, 17 and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, 18 and the horned owl, and the pelican, and the vulture, 19 and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

20 All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination to you. 21 Yet these may you eat of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to leap upon the earth; 22 even these of them you may eat: the locust after its kind, the bald locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. 23 But all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination to you.

24 And by these you Shall become unclean: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening; 25 and whoever bears anything of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. 26 Every beast that has a split hoof not completely divided, or does not chew the cud, is unclean to you: every one that touches them shall be unclean. 27 And whatever goes upon its paws, among all beasts that go on all fours, they are unclean to you: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening. 28 And he that bears the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: they are unclean to you.

29 And these are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind, 30 and the gecko, and the land-crocodile, and the lizard, and the sand-lizard, and the chameleon. 31 These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep: whoever touches them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening. 32 And on whatever any of them, when they are dead, falls, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then shall it be clean. 33 And every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, whatever is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it. 34 All food in it which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean. 35 And everything on which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you. 36 Nevertheless a fountain or a pit in which is a gathering of water shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean. 37 And if anything of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean. 38 But if water is put on the seed, and anything of their carcass falls thereon, it is unclean to you.

39 And if any beast, of which you may eat, dies; he that touches the carcass of it shall be unclean until the evening. 40 And he that eats of the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: also he that bears the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. 41 And every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten. 42 Whatever goes upon the belly, and whatever goes upon all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination. 43 You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled by it. 44 For I am Yahweh your Elohim: sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that moves upon the earth. 45 For I am Yahweh that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim: you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46 This is the law of the beast, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps upon the earth; 47 to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.

Leviticus 12

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceives seed, and bears a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean. 3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. 4 And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying thirty-three days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are fulfilled. 5 But if she bears a maidchild, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying sixty-six days.

6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a year old for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, to the door of the tent of meeting, to the priest: 7 and he shall offer it before Yahweh, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her that bears, whether a male or a female. 8 And if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

Leviticus 7-9

Leviticus 7

And this is the law of the trespass-offering: it is most holy. 2 In the place where they kill the burnt-offering shall they kill the trespass-offering; and the blood of it shall he sprinkle around on the altar. 3 And he shall offer of it all the fat of it: the fat tail, and the fat that covers the inner parts, 4 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the covering on the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away; 5 and the priest shall burn them on the altar for an offering made by fire to Yahweh: it is a trespass-offering. 6 Every male among the priests shall eat of it: it shall be eaten in a holy place: it is most holy. 7 As is the sin-offering, so is the trespass-offering; there is one law for them: the priest that makes atonement therewith, he shall have it. 8 And the priest that offers any man’s burnt-offering, even the priest shall have to himself the skin of the burnt-offering which he has offered. 9 And every meal-offering that is baked in the oven, and all that is dressed in the frying-pan, and on the baking-pan, shall be the priest’s that offers it. 10 And every meal-offering, mingled with oil, or dry, shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as well as another.

11 And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which one shall offer to Yahweh. 12 If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour soaked. 13 With cakes of leavened bread he shall offer his oblation with the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for thanksgiving. 14 And of it he shall offer one out of each oblation for a heave-offering to Yahweh; it shall be the priest’s that sprinkles the blood of the peace-offerings.

15 And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten on the day of his oblation; he shall not leave any of it until the morning. 16 But if the sacrifice of his oblation be a vow, or a freewill-offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice; and on the next day that which remains of it shall be eaten: 17 but that which remains of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire. 18 And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings is eaten on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed to him that offers it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eats of it shall bear his iniquity.

19 And the flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire. And as for the flesh, every one that is clean shall eat of it: 20 but the soul that eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, that pertain to Yahweh, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

21 And when anyone shall touch any unclean thing, the uncleanness of man, or an unclean beast, or any unclean abomination, and eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which pertain to Yahweh, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

22 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying 23 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, You shall eat no fat, of ox, or sheep, or goat. 24 And the fat of that which dies of itself, and the fat of that which is torn of beasts, may be used for any other service; but you shall in no wise eat it. 25 For whoever eats the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh, even the soul that eats it shall be cut off from his people. 26 And you shall eat no manner of blood, whether it is of bird or of beast, in any of your dwellings. 27 Whoever eats any blood, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

28 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 29 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, He that offers the sacrifice of his peace-offerings to Yahweh shall bring his oblation to Yahweh out of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings: 30 his own hands shall bring the offerings of Yahweh made by fire; the fat with the breast may be waved for a wave-offering before Yahweh. 31 And the priest shall burn the fat on the altar; but the breast shall be Aaron’s and his sons. 32 And the right thigh you shall give to the priest for a heave-offering out of the sacrifices of your peace-offerings. 33 He among the sons of Aaron that offers the blood of the peace-offerings, and the fat, shall have the right thigh for a portion. 34 For the wave-breast and the heave-thigh have I taken of the children of Israel out of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons as their portion forever from the children of Israel.

35 This is the anointing-portion of Aaron, and the anointing-portion of his sons, out of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister to Yahweh in the priest’s office; 36 which Yahweh commanded to be given them of the children of Israel, in the day that he anointed them. It is their portion forever throughout their generations.

37 This is the law of the burnt-offering, of the meal-offering, and of the sin-offering, and of the trespass-offering, and of the consecration, and of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; 38 which Yahweh commanded Moses in mount Sinai, in the day that he commanded the children of Israel to offer their oblations to Yahweh, in the wilderness of Sinai.

Leviticus 8

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bullock of the sin-offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread; 3 and assemble all the congregation at the door of the tent of meeting. 4 And Moses did as Yahweh commanded him; and the congregation was assembled at the door of the tent of meeting. 5 And Moses said to the congregation, This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded to be done.

6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water. 7 And he put on him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod on him, and he girded him with the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and bound it to him with it. 8 And he placed the breastplate on him: and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the Thummim. 9 And he set the mitre on his head; and on the mitre, in front, he set the golden plate, the holy crown; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

10 And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them. 11 And he sprinkled of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the laver and its base, to sanctify them. 12 And he poured of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head, and anointed him, to sanctify him. 13 And Moses brought Aaron’s sons, and clothed them with coats, and girded them with girdles, and bound headbands on them; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

14 And he brought the bullock of the sin-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock of the sin-offering. 15 And he killed it; and Moses took the blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement for it. 16 And he took all the fat that was upon the inner parts, and the covering of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat; and Moses burned it on the altar. 17 But the bullock, and its skin, and its flesh, and its dung, he burnt with fire outside the camp; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

18 And he presented the ram of the burnt-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. 19 And he killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood around on the altar. 20 And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat. 21 And he washed the inner parts and the legs with water; and Moses burnt the whole ram on the altar: it was a burnt-offering for a sweet savor: it was an offering made by fire to Yahweh; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

22 And he presented the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. 23 And he killed it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it on the tip of Aaron’s right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot. 24 And he brought Aaron’s sons; and Moses put of the blood on the tip of their right ear, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot: and Moses sprinkled the blood around on the altar. 25 And he took the fat, and the fat tail, and all the fat that was upon the inner parts, and the covering of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right thigh: 26 and out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before Yahweh, he took one unleavened cake, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and placed them on the fat, and on the right thigh: 27 and he put the whole on the hands of Aaron, and on the hands of his sons, and waved them for a wave-offering before Yahweh. 28 And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering: they were a consecration for a sweet savor: it was an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 29 And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave-offering before Yahweh: it was Moses’ portion of the ram of consecration; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

30 And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood ‘which was on the altar, and sprinkled it on Aaron, on his garments, and on his sons, and on his sons’ garments with him, and sanctified Aaron, his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.

31 And Moses said to Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tent of meeting: and eat it there and the bread that is in the basket of consecration, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it. 32 And that which remains of the flesh and of the bread shall you burn with fire. 33 And you shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting seven days, until the days of your consecration are fulfilled: for he shall consecrate you seven days. 34 As has been done this day, so Yahweh has commanded to do, to make atonement for you. 35 And at the door of the tent of meeting you shall remain day and night seven days, and keep the charge of Yahweh, that you do not die: for so I am commanded. 36 And Aaron and his sons did all the things which Yahweh commanded by Moses.

Leviticus 9

And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; 2 and he said to Aaron, Take a calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and offer them before Yahweh. 3 And to the children of Israel you shall speak, saying, Take a he-goat for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt-offering; 4 and an ox and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Yahweh; and a meal-offering mingled with oil: for today Yahweh will appear to you. 5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tent of meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before Yahweh. 6 And Moses said, This is the thing which Yahweh commanded that you shall do: and the glory of Yahweh shall appear to you. 7 And Moses said to Aaron, Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin-offering, and your burnt-offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the oblation of the people, and make atonement for them; as Yahweh commanded.

8 So Aaron drew near to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin-offering, which was for himself. 9 And the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar: 10 but the fat, and the kidneys, and the covering from the liver of the sin-offering, he burnt on the altar; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 11 And the flesh and the skin he burnt with fire outside the camp.

12 And he killed the burnt-offering; and Aaron’s sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it around on the altar. 13 And they delivered the burnt-offering to him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burnt them on the altar. 14 And he washed the inner parts and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.

15 And he presented the people’s oblation, and took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people, and killed it, and offered it for sin, as the first. 16 And he presented the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the ordinance. 17 And he presented the meal-offering, and filled his hand from it, and burnt it on the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning.

18 He also killed the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron’s sons delivered the blood to him, which he sprinkled around on the altar, 19 and the fat tail, and that which covers the inner parts, and the kidneys, and the covering of the liver: 20 and they put the fat on the breasts, and he burnt the fat on the altar: 21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave-offering before Yahweh; as Moses commanded.

22 And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings. 23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Yahweh appeared to all the people. 24 And there came forth fire from before Yahweh, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

Leviticus 4-6

Leviticus 4

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, If any one shall sin through ignorance, in any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and shall do any one of them: 3 if the anointed priest shall sin so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin, which he has sinned, a young bullock without blemish to Yahweh for a sin-offering. 4 And he shall bring the bullock to the door of the tent of meeting before Yahweh; and he shall lay his hand on the head of the bullock, and kill the bullock before Yahweh. 5 And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting: 6 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before Yahweh, before the veil of the sanctuary. 7 And the priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Yahweh, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood of the bullock shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting. 8 And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he shall take off from it; and the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat that is on the inner parts, 9 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the covering on the liver, with the kidneys shall he take away, 10 as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offerings: and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt-offering. 11 And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inner parts, and its dung, 12 even the whole bullock shall he carry forth outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.

13 And if the whole congregation of Israel errs, and the thing is hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and are guilty; 14 when the sin in which they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bullock for a sin-offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting. 15 And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before Yahweh; and the bullock shall be killed before Yahweh. 16 And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting: 17 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Yahweh, before the veil. 18 And he shall put of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before Yahweh, that is in the tent of meeting, and all the blood shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting. 19 And all the fat of it shall he take off from it, and burn it on the altar. 20 In this manner shall he do with the bullock; as he did with the bullock of the sin-offering, so shall he do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven. 21 And he shall carry forth the bullock outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bullock: it is the sin-offering for the assembly.

22 When a ruler sins, and does through ignorance any one of all the things which Yahweh his Elohim has commanded not to be done, and is guilty; 23 if his sin, in which he has sinned, is made known to him, he shall bring for his oblation a goat, a male without blemish; 24 and he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt-offering before Yahweh: it is a sin-offering. 25 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and the blood of it shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering. 26 And all the fat of it shall he burn on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin, and he shall be forgiven.

27 And if any one of the common people sins through ignorance, in doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and is guilty; 28 if his sin, which he has sinned, is made known to him, then he shall bring for his oblation a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has sinned. 29 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and kill the sin-offering in the place of burnt-offering. 30 And the priest shall take of the blood of it with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and all the blood of it shall he pour out at the base of the altar. 31 And all the fat of it shall he take away, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet savor to Yahweh; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.

32 And if he brings a lamb as his oblation for a sin-offering, he shall bring a female without blemish. 33 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and kill it for a sin-offering, in the place where they kill the burnt-offering. 34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and all the blood of it shall he pour out at the base of the altar: 35 and all the fat of it shall he take away, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him as touching his sin that he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.

Leviticus 5

And if anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, if he has seen or known, if he does not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity. 2 Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be guilty. 3 Or if he touches the uncleanness of man, whatever his uncleanness is with which he is unclean, and it is hid from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty. 4 Or if anyone swears rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatever it is that a man shall utter rashly with an oath, and it is hid from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these things. 5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned: 6 and he shall bring his trespass-offering to Yahweh for his sin which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin.

7 And if he cannot afford a lamb, then he shall bring his trespass-offering for that in which he has sinned, two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, to Yahweh; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering. 8 And he shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin-offering first, and wring off its head from its neck, but shall not divide it completely: 9 And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin-offering on the side of the altar: and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar: it is a sin-offering. 10 And he shall offer the second for a burnt-offering, according to the ordinance; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.

11 But if he cannot afford two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring his oblation for that in which he has sinned, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering: he shall put no oil on it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon; for it is a sin-offering. 12 And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it as the memorial of it, and burn it on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: it is a sin-offering. 13 And the priest shall make atonement for him as touching his sin that he has sinned in any of these things, and he shall be forgiven: and the remnant shall be the priest’s, as the meal-offering.

14 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 15 If any one commits a trespass, and sins through ignorance, in the holy things of Yahweh; then he shall bring his trespass-offering to Yahweh, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass-offering: 16 and he shall make restitution for that which he has done wrong in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part to it, and give it to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, and he shall be forgiven.

17 And if anyone sins, and does any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done; though he knew it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. 18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass-offering, to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning the thing in which he erred through ignorance and knew it not, and he shall be forgiven. 19 It is a trespass-offering: he is certainly guilty before Yahweh.

Leviticus 6

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 If anyone sins, and commits a trespass against Yahweh, and deals falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor, 3 or has found that which was lost, and deals falsely in it, and swears to a lie; in any of all these things that a man does, sinning in it; 4 then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he has gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found, 5 or any thing about which he has sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in full, and shall add the fifth part more thereto: to him to whom it pertains he shall give it, in the day of his being found guilty. 6 And he shall bring his trespass-offering to Yahweh, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass-offering, to the priest: 7 and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh; and he shall be forgiven concerning whatever he does so as to be guilty in it.

8 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 9 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt-offering: the burnt-offering shall be on the hearth on the altar all night to the morning; and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it. 10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen trousers shall he put on his flesh; and he shall take up the ashes to which the fire has consumed the burnt-offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar. 11 And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. 12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it, it shall not go out; and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning: and he shall lay the burnt-offering in order on it, and shall burn on it the fat of the peace-offerings. 13 Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

14 And this is the law of the meal-offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before Yahweh, before the altar. 15 And he shall take up from it his handful, of the fine flour of the meal-offering, and of the oil of it, and all the frankincense which is on the meal-offering, and shall burn it on the altar for a sweet savor, as the memorial of it, to Yahweh. 16 And that which is left of it shall Aaron and his sons eat: it shall be eaten without leaven in a holy place; in the court of the tent of meeting they shall eat it. 17 It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as the sin-offering, and as the trespass-offering. 18 Every male among the children of Aaron shall eat of it, as his portion forever throughout your generations, from the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: whoever touches them shall be holy.

19 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 20 This is the oblation of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer to Yahweh in the day when he is anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering perpetually, half of it in the morning, and half of it in the evening. 21 On a baking-pan it shall be made with oil; when it is soaked, you shall bring it in: in baked pieces you shall offer the meal-offering for a sweet savor to Yahweh. 22 And the anointed priest that shall be in his place from among his sons shall offer it: by a statute forever it shall be wholly burnt to Yahweh. 23 And every meal-offering of the priest shall be wholly burnt: it shall not be eaten.

24 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 25 Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin-offering: in the place where the burnt-offering is killed shall the sin-offering be killed before Yahweh: it is most holy. 26 The priest that offers it for sin shall eat it: in a holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tent of meeting. 27 All that touches the flesh of it shall be holy; and when there is sprinkled of the blood of it on any garment, you shall wash that on which it was sprinkled in a holy place. 28 But the earthen vessel in which it is boiled shall be broken; and if it is boiled in a copper vessel, it shall be scoured, and rinsed in water. 29 Every male among the priests shall eat of it: it is most holy. 30 And no sin-offering, of which any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place, shall be eaten: it shall be burnt with fire.

Leviticus 1-3

Leviticus 1

And Yahweh called to Moses, and spoke to him out of the tent of meeting, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When any man of you offers an oblation to Yahweh, you shall offer your oblation of the cattle, even of the herd and of the flock.

3 If his oblation is a burnt-offering of the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it at the door of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before Yahweh. 4 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the burnt-offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. 5 And he shall kill the bullock before Yahweh: and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall present the blood, and sprinkle the blood around on the altar that is at the door of the tent of meeting. 6 And he shall flay the burnt-offering, and cut it into its pieces.

7 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay wood in order on the fire; 8 and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall lay the pieces, the head, and the fat, in order on the wood that is on the fire which is on the altar: 9 but its inner parts and its legs he shall wash with water: and the priest shall burn the whole thing on the altar, for a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh.

10 And if his oblation is of the flock, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt-offering; he shall offer a male without blemish. 11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before Yahweh: and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar. 12 And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat; and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is on the altar: 13 but the inner parts and the legs he shall wash with water; and the priest shall offer the whole thing, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh.

14 And if his oblation to Yahweh is a burnt-offering of birds, then he shall offer his oblation of turtle-doves, or of young pigeons. 15 And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood of it shall be drained out on the side of the altar; 16 and he shall take away its crop with the feathers of it, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, in the place of the ashes: 17 and he shall rend it by the wings, but shall not divide it completely; and the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire: it is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh.

Leviticus 2

And when any one offers an oblation of a meal-offering to Yahweh, his oblation shall be of fine flour; and he shall Pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it: 2 and he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests; and he shall take out of it his handful of the fine flour, and of the oil of it, with all the frankincense of it; and the priest shall burn it as the memorial of it on the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh: 3 and that which is left of the meal-offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire.

4 And when you offer an oblation of a meal-offering baked in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil. 5 And if your oblation is a meal-offering of the baking-pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil. 6 You shall part it in pieces, and pour oil on it: it is a meal-offering. 7 And if your oblation is a meal-offering of the frying-pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil. 8 And you shall bring the meal-offering that is made of these things to Yahweh: and it shall be presented to the priest, and he shall bring it to the altar. 9 And the priest shall take up from the meal-offering the memorial of it, and shall burn it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh. 10 And that which is left of the meal-offering shall be Aaron’s and his son’s: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire.

11 No meal-offering, which you shall offer to Yahweh, shall be made with leaven; for you shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 12 As an oblation of first-fruits you shall offer them to Yahweh: but they shall not come up for a sweet savor on the altar. 13 And every oblation of your meal-offering you shall season with salt; neither shall you suffer the salt of the covenant of your Elohim to be lacking from your meal-offering: with all your oblations you shall offer salt.

14 And if you offer a meal-offering of first-fruits to Yahweh, you shall offer for the meal-offering of your first-fruits grain in the ear parched with fire, bruised grain of the fresh ear. 15 And you shall put oil on it, and lay frankincense on it: it is a meal-offering. 16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the bruised grain of it, and part of the oil of it, with all the frankincense of it: it is an offering made by fire to Yahweh.

Leviticus 3

And if his oblation is a sacrifice of peace-offerings; if he offers of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before Yahweh. 2 And he shall lay his hand on the head of his oblation, and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting: and Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood all around on the altar. 3 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire to Yahweh; the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat that is upon the inner parts, 4 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the covering upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away. 5 And Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt-offering, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh.

6 And if his oblation for a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahweh is of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish. 7 If he offers a lamb for his oblation, then he shall offer it before Yahweh; 8 and he shall lay his hand on the head of his oblation, and kill it before the tent of meeting: and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle the blood of it around on the altar. 9 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire to Yahweh; the fat of it, the entire fat tail, he shall take away close to the backbone; and the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat that is on the inner parts, 10 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the covering on the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away. 11 And the priest shall burn it on the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire to Yahweh.

12 And if his oblation is a goat, then he shall offer it before Yahweh: 13 and he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tent of meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood of it around on the altar. 14 And he shall offer of it his oblation, even an offering made by fire to Yahweh; the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat that is on the inner parts, 15 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins and the covering upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away. 16 And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savor; all the fat is Yahweh’s. 17 It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings, that you shall eat neither fat nor blood.

Exodus 37-40

Exodus 37

And Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood: two cubits and a half was the length of it, and a cubit and a half the width of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it:  2 and he overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside, and made a crown of gold around it. 3 And he cast for it four rings of gold, in the four feet of it; even two tings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. 4 And he made poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold. 5 And he put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to bear the ark. 6 And he made a mercy-seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half was the length of it, and a cubit and a half the width of it. 7 And he made two cherubim of gold; of beaten work made he them, at the two ends of the mercy-seat; 8 one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end: of one piece with the mercy-seat made he the cherubim at the two ends of it. 9 And the cherubim spread out their wings on high, covering the mercy-seat with their wings, with their faces one to another; toward the mercy-seat were the faces of the cherubim.

10 And he made the table of acacia wood: two cubits was the length of it, and a cubit the width of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it: 11 and he overlaid it with pure gold, and made around it a crown of gold. 12 And he made around it a border of a hand-width, and made a golden crown around the border thereof. 13 And he cast for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that were on the four feet of it. 14 Close by the border were the rings, the places for the poles to bear the table. 15 And he made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold, to bear the table. 16 And he made the vessels which were on the table, the dishes of it, and the spoons of it, and the bowls of it, and the flagons of it, with which to pour out, of pure gold.

17 And he made the candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work made he the candle-stick, even its base, and its shaft; its cups, its knobs, and its flowers, were of one piece with it: 18 and there were six branches going out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side of it, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side of it: 19 three cups made like almond-blossoms in one branch, a knob and a flower; and three cups made like almond-blossoms in the other branch, a knob and a flower: so for the six branches going out of the candlestick. 20 And in the candlestick were four cups made like almond-blossoms, the knobs of it, and the flowers of it; 21 and a knob under two branches of one piece with it, and a knob under two branches of one piece with it, and a knob under two branches of one piece with it, for the six branches going out of it. 22 Their knobs and their branches were of one piece with it: the whole of it was one beaten work of pure gold. 23 And he made the lamps of it, seven, and the snuffers of it, and the pans of it, of pure gold. 24 Of a talent Of pure gold made he it, and all the vessels of it.

25 And he made the altar of incense of acacia wood: a cubit was the length of it, and a cubit the width of it, four-square; and two cubits was the height of it; the horns were of one piece with it. 26 And he overlaid it with pure gold, the top of it, and the sides of it all around, and the horns of it: and he made around it a crown of gold. 27 And he made for it two golden rings under the crown, upon the two ribs, upon the two sides of it, for places for poles with which to bear it. 28 And he made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold. 29 And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure incense of sweet spices, after the art of the perfumer.

Exodus 38

And he made the altar of burnt-offering of acacia wood: five cubits was the length of it, and five cubits the width of it, foursquare; and three cubits the height of it. 2 And he made the horns of it upon the four corners of it; the horns of it were of one piece with it: and he overlaid it with bronze. 3 And he made all the vessels of the altar, the pots, and the shovels, and the basins, the flesh-hooks, and the firepans: all the vessels of it he made of bronze. 4 And he made for the altar a grating of network of bronze, under the ledge around it beneath, reaching halfway up. 5 And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grating of bronze, to be places for the poles. 6 And he made the poles of acacia wood, and over laid them with bronze. 7 And he put the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, to carry it; he made it hollow with planks.

8 And he made the laver of bronze, and the base of it of bronze, of the mirrors of the ministering women that ministered at the door of the tent of meeting.

9 And he made the court: for the south side southward the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, a hundred cubits; 10 their pillars were twenty, and their sockets twenty, of bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their bands were of silver 11 And for the north side a hundred cubits, their pillars twenty, and their sockets twenty, of bronze; the hooks of the pillars, and their bands, of silver. 12 And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten, and their sockets ten; the hooks of the pillars, and their bands, of silver. 13 And for the east side eastward fifty cubits. 14 The hangings for the one side of the gate were fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three; 15 and the same for the other side: on this hand and that hand by the gate of the court were hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three. 16 All the hangings of the court round about were of fine twined linen. 17 And the sockets for the pillars were of bronze; the hooks of the pillars, and their bands, of silver; and the overlaying of their capitals, of silver; and all the pillars of the court were banded with silver. 18 And the screen for the gate of the court was the work of the embroiderer, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: and twenty cubits was the length, and the height in the width was five cubits, near the hangings of the court. 19 And their pillars were four, and their sockets four, of bronze; their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of their capitals, and their bands, of silver. 20 And all the pins of the tabernacle, and of the court around it, were bronze.

21 This is the sum of the things for the tabernacle, even the tabernacle of the testimony, as they were counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest. 22 And Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that Yahweh commanded Moses. 23 And with him was Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a skilful workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.

24 All the gold that was used for the work in all the work of the sanctuary, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 25 And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was a hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and seventy-five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: 26 a beka a head, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that passed over to them that were numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand three thousand five hundred and fifty men. 27 And the hundred talents of silver were for casting the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the veil; a hundred sockets for the hundred talents, a talent for a socket. 28 And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their capitals, and made bands for them. 29 And the bronze of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels. 30 And with that he made the sockets to the door of the tent of meeting, and the bronze altar, and the bronze grating for it, and all the vessels of the altar, 31 and the sockets of the court around it, and the sockets of the gate of the court, and all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins of the court around it.

Exodus 39

And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made finely woven garments, for ministering in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen. 3 And they beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, the work of the skilful workman. 4 They made shoulder-pieces for it, joined together; at the two ends it was joined together. 5 And the skilfully woven band, that was on it, with which to gird it on, was of the same piece and like the work of it; of gold, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

6 And they wrought the onyx stones, inclosed in settings of gold, engraved with the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the children of Israel. 7 And he put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of memorial for the children of Israel; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

8 And he made the breastplate, the work of the skilful workman, like the work of the ephod; of gold, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen. 9 It was square; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length of it, and a span the width of it, being double. 10 And they set in it four rows of stones. A row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle was the first row; 11 and the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond; 12 and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; 13 and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in inclosings of gold in their settings. 14 And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names; like the engravings of a signet, every one according to his name, for the twelve tribes. 15 And they made upon the breastplate chains like cords, of wreath work of pure gold. 16 And they made two settings of gold, and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 17 And they put the two wreath chains of gold in the two rings at the ends of the breastplate. 18 And the other two ends of the two wreath chains they put on the two settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, in the forepart of it. 19 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it, which was toward the side of the ephod inward. 20 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod underneath, in the forepart of it, close by the coupling of it, above the skilfully woven band of the ephod. 21 And they bound the breastplate by the rings of it to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be upon the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

22 And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue; 23 and the hole of the robe in the middle of it, as the hole of a coat of mail, with a binding around the hole of it, that it would not tear. 24 And they made on the skirts of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen. 25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the skirts of the robe all around, between the pomegranates; 26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, on the skirts of the robe all around, to minister in; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

27 And they made the coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons, 28 and the mitre of fine linen, and the good headbands of fine linen, and the linen trousers of fine twined linen, 29 and the girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, purple, and scarlet, the work of the embroiderer; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it a writing, like the engravings of a signet, HOLY TO YAHWEH. 31 And they tied a lace of blue to it, to fasten it upon the mitre above; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

32 In this manner was finished all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting: and the children of Israel did according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses; so they did. 33 And they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent, and all its furniture, its clasps, its boards, its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets; 34 and the covering of rams skins dyed red, and the covering of tahash skins, and the veil of the screen; 35 the ark of the testimony, and the poles of it, and the mercy-seat; 36 the table, all the vessels of it, and the show-bread; 37 the pure candle stick, the lamps of it, even the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels of it, and the oil for the light; 38 and the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the screen for the door of the tent; the bronze altar, and its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its vessels, the laver and its base; 40 the hangings of the court, its pillars, and its sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court, the cords of it, and the pins of it, and all the instruments of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting; 41 the finely woven garments for ministering in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office. 42 According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. 43 And Moses saw all the work, and, behold, they had done it; as Yahweh had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

Exodus 40

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 On the first day of the first month shall you rear up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. 3 And you shall put in it the ark of the testimony, and you shall screen the ark with the veil. 4 And you shall bring in the table, and set in order the things that are on it; and you shall bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps of it. 5 And you shall set the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the screen of the door to the tabernacle. 6 And you shall set the altar of burnt-offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. 7 And you shall set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and shall put water in it. 8 And you shall set up the court round about, and hang up the screen of the gate of the court. 9 And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and shall hallow it, and all the furniture of it: it shall be holy. 10 And you shall anoint the altar of burnt-offering, and all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and the altar shall be most holy. 11 And you shall anoint the laver and its base, and sanctify it. 12 And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting and shall wash them with water. 13 And you shall put upon Aaron the holy garments; and you shall anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister to me in the priest’s office. 14 And you shall bring his sons, and put coats upon them; 15 and you shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to me in the priest’s office: and their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. 16 In this manner did Moses: according to all that Yahweh commanded him, so he did;

17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised. 18 And Moses raised the tabernacle, and laid its sockets, and set up the boards of it, and put in the bars of it, and raised its pillars. 19 And he spread the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the poles on the ark, and put the mercy-seat above upon the ark: 21 and he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 22 And he put the table in the tent of meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, outside the veil. 23 And he set the bread in order on it before Yahweh; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 24 And he put the candlestick in the tent of meeting, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward. 25 And he lighted the lamps before Yahweh; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil: 27 and he burnt on it incense of sweet spices; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 28 And he put the screen of the door to the tabernacle. 29 And he set the altar of burnt-offering at the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt-offering and the meal-offering; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 30 And he set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it, for washing. 31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet there; 32 when they went into the tent of meeting, and when they came near the altar, they washed; as Yahweh commanded Moses. 33 And he raised the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.

34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of meeting, because the cloud remained on it, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle. 36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys: 37 but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. 38 For the cloud of Yahweh was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Exodus 33-36

Exodus 33

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, Depart, go up, you and the people that you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, To your seed will I give it: 2 and I will send an angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Armorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: 3 to a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up among you; for you are a stiffnecked people; lest I consume you along the way. 4 And when the people heard this evil word, they mourned: and no man put on his ornaments. 5 And Yahweh said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, You are a stiffnecked people; if I went up among you for one moment, I would consume you: therefore now put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what to do to you. 6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments from mount Horeb onward.

7 Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it outside the camp, far from the camp; and he called it, The tent of meeting. And it came to pass, that every one that sought Yahweh went out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. 8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out to the Tent, that all the people rose up, and stood, every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he had gone into the Tent. 9 And when it came to pass, when Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, and stood at the door of the Tent: and Yahweh spoke with Moses. 10 And all the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the door of the Tent: and all the people rose up and worshiped, every man at his tent door. 11 And Yahweh spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he returned again to the camp: but his minister Yahshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the Tent.

12 And Moses said to Yahweh, See, you say to me, Bring up this people: and you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight. 13 Now therefore, I pray you, if I have found favor in your sight, show me now your ways, that I may know you, to the end that I may find favor in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. 15 And he said to him, If your presence goes not with me, carry us not up from here. 16 For by what now shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in that you go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people that are on the face of the earth?

17 And Yahweh said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name. 18 And he said, Show me, I pray you, your glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of Yahweh before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20 And he said, You can not see my face; for man shall not see me and live. 21 And Yahweh said, Behold, there is a place by me, and you shall stand on the rock: 22 and it shall come to pass, while my glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand until I have passed by: 23 and I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back; but my face cannot be seen.

Exodus 34

And Yahweh said to Moses, Hew for yourself two tables of stone like the first: and I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables, which you broke. 2 And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mount. 3 And no man shall come up with you; neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. 4 And he hewed two tables of stone like the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to mount Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him, and took in his hand two tables of stone. 5 And Yahweh descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Yahweh. 6 And Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, Yahweh, Yahweh, an El merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in goodness and truth; 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving inquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation. 8 And Moses hurried, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. 9 And he said, If now I have found favor in your sight, O Sovereign, let the king, I pray you, go among us; for it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.

10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, or in any nation; and all the people among which you are shall see the work of Yahweh; for it is a terrible thing that I do with you. 11 Observe you that which I command you this day: behold, I drive out before you the Armorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 12 Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare among you: 13 but you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars,, and you shall cut down their Asherim; 14 for you shall worship no other El: for Yahweh, who is zealous for His Name is a jealous El: 15 lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot after their elohim, and sacrifice to their elohim, and one calls you and you eat of his sacrifice; 16 and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the harlot after their elohim, and make your sons play the harlot after their elohim. 17 You shall make you no molten elohim.

18 The feast of unleavened bread shall you keep. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib; for in the month Abib you came out from Egypt. 19 All that opens the womb is mine; and all your cattle that is male, the firstlings of cow and sheep. 20 And the firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb: and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the first-born of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

21 Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest. 22 And you shall observe the feast of weeks, even of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end. 23 Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the sovereign Yahweh, the Elohim of Israel. 24 For I will cast out nations before you, and enlarge your borders: neither shall any man desire your land, when you go up to appear before Yahweh your Elohim three times in the year.

25 You shall not offer the blood of any sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left until the morning. 26 The first of the first-fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of Yahweh your Elohim. You shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.

27 And Yahweh said to Moses, Write these words: for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel. 28 And he was there with Yahweh forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of the testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses knew not that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him. 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him. 31 And Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him: and Moses spoke to them. 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came near: and he gave them in commandment all that Yahweh had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 33 And when Moses had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. 34 But when Moses went in before Yahweh to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded. 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

Exodus 35

And Moses assembled all the congregation of the children of Israel, and said to them, These are the words which Yahweh has commanded, that you should do them. 2 Six days shall work be done; but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of solemn rest to Yahweh: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death. 3 You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the sabbath day.

4 And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which Yahweh commanded, saying, 5 Take from among you an offering to Yahweh; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, Yahweh’s offering: gold, and silver, and bronze, 6 and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair. 7 and rams’ skins dyed red, and tahash skins, and acacia wood, 8 and oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense, 9 and onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.

10 And let every wise-hearted man among you come, and make all that Yahweh has commanded: 11 the tabernacle, its tent, its covering, its clasps, and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets; 12 the ark, and the poles of it, the mercy-seat, and the veil of the screen; 13 the table, and its poles, and all its vessels, and the showbread; 14 the candlestick also for the light, and its vessels, and its lamps, and the oil for the light; 15 and the altar of incense, and its poles, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the screen for the door, at the door of the tabernacle; 16 the altar of burnt-offering, with its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its vessels, the laver and its base; 17 the hangings of the court, the pillars of it, and their sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court; 18 the pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords; 19 the finely wrought garments, for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office.

20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and brought Yahweh’s offering, for the work of the tent of meeting, and for all the service of it, and for the holy garments. 22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing-hearted, and brought brooches, and ear-rings, and signet-rings, and armlets, all jewels of gold; even every one that offered a wave offering of gold to Yahweh. 23 And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair, and rams’ skins dyed red, and tahash skins, brought them. 24 Every one that offered an offering of silver and bronze brought Yahweh’s offering; and every man, with whom was found acacia wood for any work of the service, brought it. 25 And all the women that were wise-hearted spun with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, the blue, and the purple, the scarlet, and the fine linen. 26 And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun the goats’ hair. 27 And the rulers brought the onyx stones, and the stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breast-plate; 28 and the spice, and the oil: for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. 29 The children of Israel brought a freewill offering to Yahweh; every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all the work, which Yahweh had commanded to be made by Moses.

30 And Moses said to the children of Israel, See, Yahweh has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of Elohim, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; 32 and to devise skilful works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, 33 and in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, to work in all manner of skilful workmanship. 34 And he has put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. 35 Them has he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of workman-ship, of the engraver, and of the skilful workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any workmanship, and of those that devise skilful works.

Exodus 36

And Bezalel and Oholiab shall work, and every wise-hearted man, in whom Yahweh has put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that Yahweh has commanded.

2 And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart Yahweh had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it: 3 and they received of Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, with which to make it. And they brought yet to him free-will offerings every morning. 4 And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came from the work which they wrought; 5 and they spoke to Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which Yahweh commanded to make. 6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

8 And all the wise-hearted men among them that wrought the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, with cherubim, the work of the skilful workman, Bezalel made them. 9 The length of each curtain was eight and twenty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits: all the curtains had one measure. 10 And he coupled five curtains one to another: and the other five curtains he coupled one to another. 11 And he made loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain from the edge in the coupling: likewise he made in the edge of the curtain that was outmost in the second coupling. 12 Fifty loops he made in the one curtain, and fifty loops he made in the edge of the curtain that was in the second coupling: the loops were opposite to one another. 13 And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains to one another with the clasps: so the tabernacle was one.

14 And he made curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them. 15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits the width of each curtain: the eleven curtains had one measure. 16 And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves. 17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain which was outmost in the second coupling. 18 And he made fifty clasps of bronze to couple the tent together, that it might be one. 19 And he made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of tahash skins above.

20 And he made the boards for the tabernacle, of acacia wood, standing up. 21 Ten cubits was the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the width of each board. 22 Each board had two pins, joined one to another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle. 23 And he made the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side southward; 24 and he made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two pins, and two sockets under another board for its two pins. 25 And for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards, 26 and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. 27 And for the hinder part of the tabernacle westward he made six boards. 28 And two boards he made for the corners of the tabernacle in the hinder part. 29 And they were double beneath; and in like manner they were entire to the top of it to one ring: thus he did to both of them in the two corners. 30 And there were eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; under every board two sockets.

31 And he made bars of acacia wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, 32 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the hinder part westward. 33 And he made the middle bar to pass through in the middle of the boards from the one end to the other. 34 And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold for places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.

35 And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubim, the work of the skilful workman, he made it. 36 And he made for it four pillars of acacia, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver. 37 And he made a screen for the door of the Tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer; 38 and the five pillars of it with their hooks: and he overlaid their capitals and their bands with gold; and their five sockets were of bronze.
