Psalm 103-105

Psalm 103

Bless Yahweh, O my soul;

And all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless Yahweh, O my soul,

And forget not all his benefits:

3 Who forgives all your iniquities;

Who heals all your diseases;

4 Who redeems your life from destruction;

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfies your desire with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

6 Yahweh executes righteous acts,

And judgments for all that are oppressed.

7 He made known his ways to Moses,

His doings to the children of Israel.

8 Yahweh is merciful and gracious,

Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness.

9 He will not always chide;

Neither will he keep his anger forever.

10 He has not dealt with us after our sins,

Nor rewarded us after our iniquities.

11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is his lovingkindness toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west,

So far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pities his children,

So Yahweh pities them that fear him.

14 For he knows our frame;

He remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are as grass;

As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone;

And the place of it shall know it no more.

17 But the lovingkindness of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting

upon them that fear him,

And his righteousness to children’s children;

18 To such as keep his covenant,

And to those that remember his precepts to do them.

19 Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens;

And his kingdom rules over all.

20 Bless Yahweh, you his angels,

That are mighty in strength, that fulfil his word, listening to the voice of his word.

21 Bless Yahweh, all you his hosts,

You ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless Yahweh, all you his works,

In all places of his dominion:

Bless Yahweh, O my soul.

Psalm 104

Bless Yahweh, O my soul.

O Yahweh my Elohim, you are very great;

You are clothed with honor and majesty:

2 Who covers yourself with light as with a garment;

Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain;

3 Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters;

Who makes the clouds his chariot;

Who walks upon the wings of the wind;

4 Who makes winds his messengers;

Flames of fire his ministers;

5 Who laid the foundations of the earth.

That it should not be moved forever.

6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment;

The waters stood above the mountains.

7 At your rebuke they flee;

At the voice of your thunder they hurry away

8 (The mountains rose, the valleys sank down)

To the place which you had founded for them.

9 You have set a bound that they may not pass over;

That they turn not again to cover the earth.

10 He sends forth springs into the valleys:

They run among the mountains;

11 They give drink to every beast of the field;

The wild asses quench their thirst.

12 By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;

They sing among the branches

13 He waters the mountains from his chambers:

The earth is filled with the fruit of your works.

14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,

And herbs for the service of man;

That he may bring forth food out of the earth,

15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man,

And oil to make his face to shine,

And bread that strengthens man’s heart.

16 The trees of Yahweh are filled with moisture;

The cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted;

17 Where the birds make their nests:

As for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

18 The high mountains are for the wild goats;

The rocks are a refuge for the conies.

19 He appointed the moon for seasons:

The sun knows his going down.

20 You make darkness, and it is night,

In which all the beasts of the forest creep forth.

21 The young lions roar after their prey,

And seek their food from El.

22 The sun arises, they are gathered,

And lay them down in their dens.

23 Man goes forth to his work

And to his labor until the evening.

24 O Yahweh, how manifold are your works!

In wisdom you have made them all:

The earth is full of your riches.

25 Yonder is the sea, great and wide,

In which are things creeping innumerable,

Both small and great beasts.

26 There go the ships;

There is leviathan, whom you have formed to play in it.

27 These wait all for you,

That you may give them their food in due season.

28 You give to them, they gather;

You open your hand, they are satisfied with good.

29 You hide your face, they are troubled;

You take away their breath, they die,

And return to their dust.

30 You send forth your Spirit, they are created;

And you renew the face of the ground.

31 Let the glory of Yahweh endure forever;

Let Yahweh rejoice in his works:

32 Who looks on the earth, and it trembles;

He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

33 I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live:

I will sing praise to my Elohim while I have any being.

34 Let my meditation be sweet to him:

I will rejoice in Yahweh.

35 Let sinners be consumed out of the earth,

And let the wicked be no more.

Bless Yahweh, O my soul.

HalleluYah!

Psalm 105

Oh give thanks to Yahweh, call upon his name;

Make known among the peoples his doings.

2 Sing to him, sing praises to him;

Talk of all his marvelous works.

3 Glory in his holy name:

Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Yahweh.

4 Seek you Yahweh and his strength;

Seek his face evermore.

5 Remember his marvelous works that he has done,

His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

6 O you seed of Abraham his servant,

You children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

7 He is Yahweh our Elohim:

His judgments are in all the earth.

8 He has remembered his covenant forever,

The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,

9 The covenant which he made with Abraham,

And his oath to Isaac,

10 And confirmed the same to Jacob for a statute,

To Israel for an everlasting covenant,

11 Saying, to you will I give the land of Canaan,

the lot of your inheritance,

12 When they were but a few men in number,

Very few, and sojourners in it.

13 And they went about from nation to nation

From one kingdom to another people.

14 He suffered no man to do them wrong; yes,

he reproved kings for their sakes,

15 Saying, Touch not my anointed ones,

And do my prophets no harm.

16 And he called for a famine upon the land;

He broke the whole staff of bread.

17 He sent a man before them;

Joseph was sold for a servant:

18 His feet they hurt with fetters;

he was laid in chains of iron,

19 Until the time that his word came to pass,

The word of Yahweh tried him.

20 The king sent and loosed him;

Even the ruler of peoples, and let him go free.

21 He made him overseer of his house,

And ruler of all his substance;

22 To bind his princes at his pleasure,

And teach his elders wisdom.

23 Israel also came into Egypt;

And Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 And he increased his people greatly,

And made them stronger than their adversaries.

25 He turned their heart to hate his people,

To deal subtly with his servants.

26 He sent Moses his servant,

And Aaron whom he had chosen.

27 They set among them his signs,

And wonders in the land of Ham.

28 He sent darkness, and made it dark;

And they rebelled not against his words.

29 He turned their waters into blood,

And killed their fish.

30 Their land swarmed with frogs

In the chambers of their kings.

31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies,

And lice in all their borders.

32 He gave them hail for rain,

And flaming fire in their land.

33 He struck their vines also and their fig-trees,

And broke the trees of their borders.

34 He spoke, and the locust came,

And the grasshopper, and that without number,

35 And they ate up every herb in their land,

And ate up the fruit of their ground.

36 He struck also all the first-born in their land,

The chief of all their strength.

37 And he brought them forth with silver and gold;

And there was not one feeble person among his tribes.

38 Egypt was glad when they departed;

For the fear of them had fallen upon them.

39 He spread a cloud for a covering,

And fire to give light in the night.

40 They asked, and he brought quails,

And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41 He opened the rock, and waters gushed out;

They ran in the dry places like a river.

42 For he remembered his holy word,

And Abraham his servant.

43 And he brought forth his people with joy,

And his chosen with singing.

44 And he gave them the lands of the nations;

And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:

45 That they might keep his statutes,

And observe his laws.

HalleluYah!

Psalm 100-102

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise to Yahweh, all you lands.

2 Serve Yahweh with gladness:

Come before his presence with singing.

3 Know that Yahweh, he is Elohim:

It is he that has made us, and not we ourselves;

We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,

And into his courts with praise:

Give thanks to him, and bless his name.

5 For Yahweh is good; his lovingkindness endures forever,

And his faithfulness to all generations.

A Psalm of David.

Psalm 101

I will sing of lovingkindness and justice:

To you, O Yahweh, will I sing praises.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way:

Oh when will you come to me?

I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 I will set no base thing before my eyes:

I hate the work of them that turn aside;

It shall not cling to me.

4 A perverse heart shall depart from me:

I will know no evil thing.

5 Whoever privately slanders his neighbor will I destroy:

Him that has a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.

6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me:

He that walks in a perfect way, he shall minister to me.

7 He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house:

He that speaks falsehood shall not be established before my eyes.

8 Morning by morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land;

To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of Yahweh.

A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and pours out his complaint before Yahweh.

Psalm 102

Hear my prayer, O Yahweh,

And let my cry come to you.

2 Hide not your face from me in the day of my distress:

Incline your ear to me;

In the day when I call answer me speedily.

3 For my days consume away like smoke,

And my bones are burned as a firebrand.

4 My heart is struck like grass, and withered;

For I forget to eat my bread.

5 By reason of the voice of my groaning

My bones hold fast to my flesh.

6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness;

I have become as an owl of the waste places.

7 I watch, and have become like a sparrow

That is alone upon the housetop.

8 My enemies reproach me all the day;

They that are mad against me curse by me.

9 For I have eaten ashes like bread,

And mingled my drink with weeping,

10 Because of your indignation and your wrath:

For you have taken me up, and cast me away.

11 My days are like a shadow that declines;

And I am withered like grass.

12 But you, O Yahweh, will remain forever;

And your memorial name to all generations.

13 You will arise, and have mercy upon Zion;

For it is time to have pity upon her,

Yes, the set time is come.

14 For your servants take pleasure in her stones,

And have pity upon her dust.

15 So the nations shall fear the name of Yahweh,

And all the kings of the earth your glory:

16 For Yahweh has built up Zion;

He has appeared in his glory;

17 He has regarded the prayer of the destitute,

And has not despised their prayer.

18 This shall be written for the generation to come;

And a people which shall be created shall praise Yah.

19 For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary;

From heaven did Yahweh behold the earth;

20 To hear the sighing of the prisoner;

To loose those that are appointed to death;

21 That men may declare the name of Yahweh in Zion,

And his praise in Jerusalem;

22 When the peoples have gathered together,

And the kingdoms, to serve Yahweh.

23 He weakened my strength in the way;

He shortened my days.

24 I said, O my El, take me not away in the middle of my days:

Your years are throughout all generations.

25 Of old did you lay the foundation of the earth;

And the heavens are the work of your hands.

26 They shall perish, but you shall endure;

Yes, all of them shall grow old like a garment;

As a garment shall you change them, and they shall be changed:

27 But you are the same,

And your years shall have no end.

28 The children of your servants shall continue,

And their seed shall be established before you.

A Psalm of David.

Psalm 97-99

Psalm 97

Yahweh reigns; let the earth rejoice;

Let the multitude of isles be glad.

2 Clouds and darkness are all around him:

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3 A fire goes before him,

And burns up his adversaries all around.

4 His lightnings lightened the world:

The earth saw, and trembled.

5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Yahweh,

At the presence of the Sovereign of the whole earth.

6 The heavens declare his righteousness,

And all the peoples have seen his glory.

7 Let all them be put to shame that serve graven images,

That boast themselves of idols:

Worship him, all you elohim.

8 Zion heard and was glad,

And the daughters of Judah rejoiced,

Because of your judgments, O Yahweh.

9 For you, Yahweh, are most high above all the earth:

You are exalted far above all elohim.

10 O you that love Yahweh, hate evil:

He preserves the souls of his saints;

He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous,

And gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous;

And give thanks to his holy memorial name.

Psalm 98

O sing to Yahweh a new song;

For he has done marvelous things:

His right hand, and his holy arm, has worked salvation for him.

2 Yahweh has made known his salvation:

His righteousness has he openly showed in the sight of the nations.

3 He has remembered his lovingkindness and his faithfulness toward the house Of Israel:

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Elohim.

4 Make a joyful noise to Yahweh, all the earth:

Break forth and sing for joy, yes, sing praises.

5 Sing praises to Yahweh with the harp;

With the harp and the voice of melody.

6 With trumpets and sound of cornet

Make a joyful noise before the King, Yahweh.

7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness of it;

The world, and they that dwell in it;

8 Let the floods clap their hands;

Let the hills sing for joy together

9 Before Yahweh; for he comes to judge the earth:

He will judge the world with righteousness,

And the peoples with equity.

Psalm 99

Yahweh reigns; let the peoples tremble:

He sits above the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

2 Yahweh is great in Zion;

And he is high above all the peoples.

3 Let them praise your great and terrible name:

Holy is he.

4 The king’s strength also loves justice;

You did establish equity;

You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5 Exalt Yahweh our Elohim,

And worship at his footstool:

Holy is he.

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests,

And Samuel among them that call upon his name;

They called upon Yahweh, and he answered them.

7 He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud:

They kept his testimonies,

And the statute that he gave them.

8 You answered them, O Yahweh our Elohim:

You were El that forgave them,

Though you took vengeance of their doings.

9 Exalt Yahweh our Elohim,

And worship at his holy hill;

For Yahweh our Elohim is holy.

Psalm 94-96

Psalm 94

O Yahweh, you El to whom vengeance belongs.

You El to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.

2 Lift up yourself, you judge of the earth:

Render to the proud their desert.

3 Yahweh, how long shall the wicked,

How long shall the wicked triumph?

4 They prate, they speak arrogantly:

All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.

5 They break in pieces your people, O Yahweh,

And afflict your heritage.

6 They kill the widow and the sojourner,

And murder the fatherless.

7 And they say, Yah will not see,

Neither will the Elohim of Jacob consider.

8 Consider, you brutish among the people;

And you fools, when will you be wise?

9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?

He that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 He that chastises the nations, shall not he correct,

Even he that teaches man knowledge?

11 Yahweh knows the thoughts of man,

That they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom you correct O Yah,

And teach out of your law;

13 That you may give him rest from the days of adversity,

Until the pit is dug for the wicked.

14 For Yahweh will not cast off his people,

Neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15 For judgment shall return to righteousness;

And all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers?

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless Yahweh had been my help,

My soul had soon dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slips;

Your lovingkindness, O Yahweh, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me

Your comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of wickedness have partnership with you,

Which frames mischief by statute?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous,

And condemn the innocent blood.

22 But Yahweh has been my high tower,

And my Elohim the rock of my refuge.

23 And he has brought upon them their own iniquity,

And will cut them off in their own wickedness;

Yahweh our Elohim will cut them off.

Psalm 95

Oh come, let us sing to Yahweh;

Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving;

Let us make a joyful noise to him with psalms.

3 For Yahweh is a great El,

And a great King above all elohim.

4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth;

The heights of the mountains are his also.

5 The sea is his, and he made it;

And his hands formed the dry land.

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

Let us kneel before Yahweh our Maker:

7 For he is our Elohim,

And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

Today, oh that you would hear his voice!

8 Harden not your heart, as at Meribah,

As in the day of Massah in the wilderness;

9 When your fathers tempted me,

Proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved with that generation,

And said, It is a people that do err in their heart,

And they have not known my ways:

11 Therefore I swore in my wrath,

That they should not enter into my rest.

Psalm 96

Oh sing to Yahweh a new song:

Sing to Yahweh, all the earth.

2 Sing to Yahweh, bless his name;

Show forth his salvation from day to day.

3 Declare his glory among the nations,

His marvelous works among all the peoples.

4 For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised:

He is to be feared above all elohim.

5 For all the elohim of the peoples are idols;

But Yahweh made the heavens.

6 Honor and majesty are before him:

Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7 Ascribe to Yahweh, you kindreds of the peoples,

Ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.

8 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due his name.

Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9 Oh worship Yahweh in holy array:

Tremble before him, all the earth.

10 Say among the nations, Yahweh reigns:

The world also is established that it cannot be moved:

He will judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;

Let the sea roar, and the fulness of it;

12 Let the field exult, and all that is in it;

Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy

13 Before Yahweh; for he comes,

For he comes to judge the earth:

He will judge the world with righteousness,

And the peoples with his truth.

Psalm 91-93

Psalm 91

He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall remain under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of Yahweh,

He is my refuge and my fortress;

My Elohim, in whom I trust.

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler,

And from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his pinions,

And under his wings shall you take refuge:

His truth is a shield and a buckler.

5 You shall not be afraid for the terror by night,

Nor for the arrow that flies by day;

6 For the pestilence that walks in darkness,

Nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at your side,

And ten thousand at your right hand;

But it shall not come near you.

8 Only with your eyes shall you behold,

And see the reward of the wicked.

9 For you, O Yahweh, are my refuge!

You have made the Most High your habitation;

10 There shall no evil happen to you,

Neither shall any plague come near your tent.

11 For he will give his angels charge over you,

To keep you in all your ways.

12 They shall bear you up in their hands,

Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder:

The young lion and the serpent shall you trample under foot.

14 Because he has set his love upon me,

therefore will I deliver him:

I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble:

I will deliver him, and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him,

And show him my salvation.

A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day.

Psalm 92

It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh,

And to sing praises to your name, O Most High;

2 To show forth your lovingkindness in the morning,

And your faithfulness every night,

3 With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery;

With a solemn sound upon the harp.

4 For you, Yahweh, have made me glad through your work:

I will triumph in the works of your hands.

5 How great are your works, O Yahweh!

Your thoughts are very deep.

6 A brutish man knows not;

Neither does a fool understand this:

7 When the wicked spring as the grass,

And when all the workers of iniquity flourish;

It is that they shall be destroyed forever.

8 But you, O Yahweh, are on high for evermore.

9 For, lo, your enemies, O Yahweh,

For, lo, your enemies shall perish;

All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn have you exalted like the horn of the wild-ox:

I am anointed with fresh oil.

11 My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies,

My ears have heard my desire of the evildoers that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree:

He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 They are planted in the house of Yahweh;

They shall flourish in the courts of our Elohim.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;

They shall be full of sap and green:

15 To show that Yahweh is upright;

He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Psalm 93

Yahweh reigns; he is clothed with majesty;

Yahweh is clothed with strength; he has girded himself with it:

The world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

2 Your throne is established of old:

You are from everlasting.

3 The floods have lifted up, O Yahweh,

The floods have lifted up their voice;

The floods lift up their waves.

4 Above the voices of many waters,

The mighty breakers of the sea,

Yahweh on high is mighty.

5 Your testimonies are very sure:

Holiness becomes your house, O Yahweh, for evermore.

Psalm 88-90

Psalm 88

O Yahweh, the Elohim of my salvation,

I have cried day and night before you.

2 Let my prayer enter into your presence;

Incline your ear to my cry.

3 For my soul is full of troubles,

And my life draws near to Sheol.

4 I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit;

I am as a man that has no help,

5 Cast off among the dead,

Like the killed that lie in the grave,

Whom you remember no more,

And they are cut off from your hand.

6 You have laid me in the lowest pit,

In dark places, in the deeps.

7 Your wrath lies hard upon me,

And you have afflicted me with all your waves.

Selah

8 You have put my acquaintance far from me;

You have made me an abomination to them:

I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

9 My eye wastes away by reason of affliction:

I have called daily upon you, O Yahweh;

I have spread forth my hands to you.

10 Will you show wonders to the dead?

Shall they that are deceased arise and praise you?

Selah

11 Shall your lovingkindness be declared in the grave?

Or your faithfulness in Destruction?

12 Shall your wonders be known in the dark?

And your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

13 But to you, O Yahweh, have I cried;

And in the morning shall my prayer come before you.

14 Yahweh, why cast you off my soul?

Why hide your face from me?

15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up:

While I suffer your terrors I am distracted.

16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me;

Your terrors have cut me off

17 They came all around me like water all the day long;

They compassed me about together.

18 Lover and friend have you put far from me,

And my acquaintance into darkness.

Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.

Psalm 89

I will sing of the lovingkindness of Yahweh forever:

With my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.

2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever;

Your faithfulness will you establish in the very heavens.

3 I have made a covenant with my chosen,

I have sworn to David my servant:

4 Your seed will I establish forever,

And build up your throne to all generations.

Selah

5 And the heavens shall praise your wonders, O Yahweh;

Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

6 For who in the skies can be compared to Yahweh?

Who among the sons of the mighty is like Yahweh,

7 An El very terrible in the council of the holy ones,

And to be feared above all them that are all around him?

8 O Yahweh Elohim of hosts,

Who is a mighty one, like you, O Yah?

And your faithfulness is all around you.

9 You rule the pride of the sea:

When the waves of it arise, you still them.

10 You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain;

You have scattered your enemies with the arm of your strength.

11 The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours:

The world and the fulness of it, you have founded them.

12 The north and the south, you have created them:

Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.

13 You have a mighty arm;

Strong is your hand, and high is your right hand.

14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne:

Lovingkindness and truth go before your face.

15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound:

They walk, O Yahweh, in the light of your countenance.

16 In your name they rejoice all the day;

And in your righteousness are they exalted.

17 For you are the glory of their strength;

And in your favor our horn shall be exalted.

18 For our shield belongs to Yahweh;

And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

19 Then you spoke in vision to your saints,

And said, I have laid help upon one that is mighty;

I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

20 I have found David my servant;

With my holy oil have I anointed him:

21 With whom my hand shall be established;

My arm also shall strengthen him.

22 The enemy shall not exact from him,

Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

23 And I will beat down his adversaries before him,

And strike them that hate him.

24 But my faithfulness and my lovingkindness shall be with him;

And in my name shall his horn be exalted.

25 I will set his hand also on the sea,

And his right hand on the rivers.

26 He shall cry to me,

You are my Father,

My El and the rock of my salvation.

27 I also will make him my first-born,

The highest of the kings of the earth.

28 My lovingkindness will I keep for him for evermore;

And my covenant shall stand fast with him.

29 His seed also will I make to endure forever,

And his throne as the days of heaven.

30 If his children forsake my law,

And walk not in my ordinances;

31 If they break my statutes,

And keep not my commandments;

32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod,

And their iniquity with stripes.

33 But my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him

Nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

34 My covenant will I not break,

Nor alter the thing that has gone out of my lips.

35 Once have I sworn by my holiness:

I will not lie to David:

36 His seed shall endure forever,

And his throne as the sun before me.

37 It shall be established forever as the moon,

And as the faithful witness in the sky.

Selah

38 But you have cast off and rejected,

You have been angry with your anointed.

39 You have abhorred the covenant of your servant:

You have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

40 You have broken down all his hedges;

You have brought his strongholds to ruin.

41 All that pass by the way rob him:

He has become a reproach to his neighbors.

42 You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries;

You have made all his enemies to rejoice.

43 Also, you turn back the edge of his sword,

And have not made him to stand in the battle.

44 You have made his brightness to cease,

And cast his throne down to the ground.

45 The days of his youth have you shortened:

Selah

You have covered him with shame.

46 How long, O Yahweh? Will you hide yourself forever?

How long shall your wrath burn like fire?

47 Oh remember how short my time is:

For what vanity have you created all the children of men!

48 What man is he that shall live and not see death,

That shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?

Selah

49 Yahweh, where are your former lovingkindnesses,

Which you swore to David in your faithfulness?

50 Remember, Yahweh, the reproach of your servants;

How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty peoples,

51 With which your enemies have reproached, O Yahweh,

With which they have reproached the footsteps of your anointed.

52 Blessed be Yahweh for evermore.

Amen, and Amen.

A Prayer of Moses the man of Elohim.

Psalm 90

Yahweh, you have been our dwelling-place

In all generations.

2 Before the mountains were brought forth,

Or ever you had formed the earth and the world,

Even from everlasting to everlasting, you are El.

3 You turn man to destruction

And say,Return, you children of men.

4 For a thousand years in your sight

Are but as yesterday when it is past,

And as a watch in the night.

5 You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep:

In the morning they are like grass which grows up.

6 In the morning it flourishes, and grows up;

In the evening it is cut down, and withers.

7 For we are consumed in your anger,

And in your wrath are we troubled.

8 You have set our iniquities before you,

Our secret sins in the light of your countenance.

9 For all our days are passed away in your wrath:

We bring our years to an end as a sigh.

10 The days of our years are seventy,

Or even by reason of strength eighty years;

Yet is their pride but labor and sorrow;

For it is soon gone, and we fly away.

11 Who knows the power of your anger,

And your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?

12 So teach us to number our days,

That we may get us a heart of wisdom.

13 Return, O Yahweh; how long?

And let it repent you concerning your servants.

14 Oh satisfy us in the morning with your lovingkindness,

That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad according to the days in which you have afflicted us,

And the years in which we have seen evil.

16 Let your work appear to your servants,

And your glory upon their children.

17 And let the favor of Yahweh our Elohim be upon us;

And establish the work of our hands upon us;

Yes, even the work of our hands establish it.

Psalm 85-87

Psalm 85

Yahweh, you have been favorable to your land;

You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.

2 You have forgiven the iniquity of your people;

You have covered all their sin.

3 You have taken away all your wrath;

You have turned yourself from the fierceness of your anger.

4 Turn us, O Elohim of our salvation,

And cause your indignation toward us to cease.

5 Will you be angry with us forever?

Will you draw out your anger to all generations?

6 Will you not quicken us again,

That your people may rejoice in you?

7 Show us your lovingkindness, O Yahweh,

And grant us your salvation.

8 I will hear what El Yahweh will speak;

For he will speak peace to his people, and to his saints:

But let them not turn again to folly.

9 Surely his salvation is near them that fear him,

That glory, may dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth have met together;

Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11 Truth springs out of the earth;

And righteousness has looked down from heaven.

12 Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good;

And our land shall yield its increase.

13 Righteousness shall go before him,

And shall make his footsteps a way to walk in.

A Prayer of David.

Psalm 86

Bow down your ear, O Yahweh, and answer me;

For I am poor and needy.

2 Preserve my soul; for I am righteous:

O you my Elohim, save your servant that trusts in you.

3 Be merciful to me, O Yahweh;

For to you do I cry all the day long.

4 Rejoice the soul of your servant;

For to you, O Yahweh, do I lift up my soul.

5 For you, Yahweh, are good, and ready to forgive,

And abundant in lovingkindness to all them that call upon you.

6 Give ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer;

And listen to the voice of my supplications.

7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon you;

For you will answer me.

8 There is none like you among the elohim, O Yahweh;

Neither are there any works like to your works.

9 All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you, O Yahweh;

And they shall glorify your name.

10 For you are great, and do wondrous things:

You are Elohim alone.

11 Teach me your way, O Yahweh;

I will walk in your truth:

Unite my heart to fear your name.

12 I will praise you, O Yahweh my Elohim, with my whole heart;

And I will glorify your name for evermore.

13 For great is your lovingkindness toward me;

And you have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

14 O Elohim, the proud have risen up against me,

And a company of violent men have sought after my soul,

And have not set you before them.

15 But you, O Yahweh, are an El merciful and gracious,

Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

16 Oh turn to me, and have mercy upon me;

Give your strength to your servant,

And save the son of your handmaid.

17 Show me a token for good,

That they who hate me may see it, and be put to shame.

Because you, Yahweh, have helped me, and comforted me.

A Psalm of the sons of Korah; a Song.

Psalm 87

His foundation is in the holy mountains.

2 Yahweh loves the gates of Zion

More than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 Glorious things are spoken of you,

O city of Elohim.

Selah

4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among them that know me:

Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia:

This one was born there.

5 Yes, of Zion it shall be said,

This one and that one was born in her;

And the Most High himself will establish her.

6 Yahweh will count, when he writes up the peoples,

This one was born there.

Selah

7 They that sing as well as they that dance shall say,

All my fountains are in you.

Psalm 82-84

Psalm 82

Elohim stands in the congregation of El;

He judges among the elohim.

2 How long will you judge unjustly,

And respect the persons of the wicked?

Selah

3 Judge the poor and fatherless:

Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.

4 Rescue the poor and needy:

Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 They know not, neither do they understand;

They walk to and fro in darkness:

All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 I said, You are elohim,

And all of you sons of the Most High.

7 Nevertheless you shall die like men,

And fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O Elohim, judge the earth;

For you shall inherit all the nations.

A Song, a Psalm of Asaph.

Psalm 83

O Elohim, keep not silence:

Hold not your peace, and be not still, O El.

2 For, lo, your enemies make a tumult;

And they that hate you have lifted up the head.

3 They take crafty counsel against your people,

And consult together against your hidden ones.

4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation;

That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5 For they have consulted together with one consent;

Against you they make a covenant:

6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;

Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek;

Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

8 Assyria also is joined with them;

They have helped the children of Lot.

Selah

9 Do you to them as to Midian,

As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

10 Who perished at En-dor,

Who became as dung for the earth.

11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb;

Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;

12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession

The habitations of Elohim.

13 O my Elohim, make them like the whirling dust;

As stubble before the wind.

14 As the fire that burns the forest,

And as the flame that sets the mountains on fire,

15 So pursue them with your tempest,

And terrify them with your storm.

16 Fill their faces with confusion,

That they may seek your name, O Yahweh.

17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever;

Yes, let them be confounded and perish;

18 And they shall know that your name is Yahweh alone,

Most High over all the earth.

Psalm 84

How amiable are your tabernacles,

O Yahweh of hosts!

2 My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of Yahweh;

My heart and my flesh cry out to the living El.

3 Even the sparrow has found her a house,

And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young.

Even your altars, O Yahweh of hosts, My King, and my Elohim.

4 Blessed are they that dwell in your house:

They will be still praising you.

Selah

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in you;

In whose heart are the highways to Zion.

6 Passing through the valley of Weeping they make it a place of springs;

Yes, the early rain covers it with blessings.

7 They go from strength to strength;

Every one of them appears before Elohim in Zion.

8 O Yahweh Elohim of hosts, hear my prayer;

Give ear, O Elohim of Jacob.

Selah

9 Behold, O Elohim our shield,

And look upon the face of your anointed.

10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand.

I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my Elohim,

Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For Yahweh Elohim is a sun and a shield:

Yahweh will give grace and glory;

No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O Yahweh of hosts,

Blessed is the man that trusts in you.

A Psalm of the son of Korah.

Psalm 79-81

Psalm 79

O Elohim, the nations have come into your inheritance;

Your holy temple have they defiled;

They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

2 The dead bodies of your servants have they given to be food to the birds of the heavens,

The flesh of your saints to the beasts of the earth.

3 Their blood have they shed like water all around Jerusalem;

And there was none to bury them.

4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors,

A scoffing and derision to them that are all around us.

5 How long, O Yahweh? Will you be angry forever?

Shall your jealousy burn like fire?

6 Pour out your wrath upon the nations that do not know you,

And upon the kingdoms that call not upon your name.

7 For they have devoured Jacob,

And laid waste his habitation.

8 Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers:

Let your tender mercies speedily meet us;

For we are brought very low.

9 Help us, O Elohim of our salvation, for the glory of your name;

And deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.

10 Why should the nations say, Where is their Elohim?

Let the avenging of the blood of your servants which is shed

Be known among the nations in our sight.

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you:

According to the greatness of your power preserve those that are appointed to death;

12 And render to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom

Their reproach, with which they have reproached you, O Yahweh:

13 So we your people and sheep of your pasture

Will give you thanks forever:

We will show forth your praise to all generations.

Psalm 80

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,

You that lead Joseph like a flock;

You that sit above the cherubim, shine forth.

2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might,

And come to save us.

3 Turn us again, O Elohim;

And cause your face to shine, and we shall be saved.

4 O Yahweh Elohim of hosts,

How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?

5 You have fed them with the bread of tears,

And given them tears to drink in large measure.

6 You make us a strife to our neighbors;

And our enemies laugh among themselves.

7 Turn us again, O Elohim of hosts;

And cause your face to shine, and we shall be saved.

8 You brought a vine out of Egypt:

You drove out the nations, and planted it.

9 You prepared room before it,

And it took deep root, and filled the land.

10 The mountains were covered with the shadow of it,

And the boughs of it were like cedars of El.

11 It sent out its branches to the sea,

And its shoots to the River.

12 Why have you broken down its walls,

So that all they that pass by the way pluck it?

13 The boar out of the wood ravages it,

And the wild beasts of the field feed on it.

14 Turn again, we plead you, O Elohim of hosts:

Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine,

15 And the stock which your right hand planted,

and the branch that you made strong for yourself.

16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down:

They perish at the rebuke of your countenance.

17 Let your hand be upon the man of your right hand,

Upon the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.

18 So shall we not go back from you.

Quicken us, and we will call upon your name.

19 Turn us again, O Yahweh Elohim of hosts;

Cause your face to shine, and we shall be saved.

For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith.

A Psalm of Asaph.

Psalm 81

Sing aloud to Elohim our strength:

Make a joyful noise to the Elohim of Jacob.

2 Raise a song, and bring here the timbrel,

The pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon,

At the full moon, on our feast day.

4 For it is a statute for Israel,

An ordinance of the Elohim of Jacob.

5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony,

When he went out over the land of Egypt,

Where I heard a language that I knew not.

6 I removed his shoulder from the burden:

His hands were freed from the basket.

7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you;

I answered you in the secret place of thunder;

I proved you at the waters of Meribah.

Selah

8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify to you:

O Israel, if you would listen to me!

9 There shall no strange El be in you;

Neither shall you worship any foreign El.

10 I am Yahweh your Elohim,

Who brought you up out of the land of Egypt:

Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 But my people listened not to my voice;

And Israel did not consent to me.

12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart,

That they might walk in their own counsels.

13 Oh that my people would listen to me,

That Israel would walk in my ways!

14 I would soon subdue their enemies,

And turn my hand against their adversaries.

15 The haters of Yahweh should submit themselves to him:

But their time should endure forever.

16 He would feed them also with the finest of the wheat;

And with honey out of the rock would I satisfy you.

A Psalm of Asaph.

Leviticus 25-27

Leviticus 25

And Yahweh spoke to Moses in mount Sinai, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When you come into the land which I will give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath to Yahweh. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather in the fruits of it; 4 but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to Yahweh: you shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. 5 That which grows of itself of your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land. 6 And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for you, and for your servant and for your maid, and for your hired servant and for your stranger, who sojourns with you. 7 And for your cattle, and for the beasts that are in your land, shall all the increase of it be for food.

8 And you shall number seven sabbaths of years to you, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto you the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years. 9 Then shall you send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement you shall send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land. 10 And you shall hallow the fiftieth year return, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all the inhabitants of it: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall every man to his family. 11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be to you: you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines. 12 For it is a jubilee; it shah be holy to you: you shall eat the increase of it out of the field.

13 In this year of jubilee you shall return every man to his possession. 14 And if you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy of your neighbor’s hand, you shall not wrong one another. 15 According to the number of years after the jubilee you shall buy of your neighbor, and according to the number of years of the crops he shall sell to you. 16 According to the multitude of the years you shall increase the price of it, and according to the fewness of the years you shall diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops does he sell to you. 17 And you shall not wrong one another; but you shall fear your Elohim: for I am Yahweh your Elohim.

18 Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety. 19 And the land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell in it in safety. 20 And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase; 21 then I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years. 22 And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old store.

23 And the land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine: for you are strangers and sojourners with me. 24 And in all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption for the land. 25 If your brother has become poor, and sells some of his possession, then shall his kinsman that is next to him come, and shall redeem that which his brother has sold. 26 And if a man has no one to redeem it, and he has grown rich and finds sufficient to redeem it; 27 then let him reckon the years of the sale of it, and restore the excess to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his possession. 28 But if he is not able to get it back for himself, then that which he has sold shall remain in the hand of him that has bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return to his possession.

29 And if a man sells a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption. 30 And if it is not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him that bought it, throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee. 31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee. 32 Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time. 33 And if one of the Levites redeems, then the house that was sold, and the city in his possession, shall go out in the jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel. 34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

35 And if your brother has grown poor, and his hand fails with you; then you shall uphold him: as a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with you. 36 Take no interest of him or increase, but fear your Elohim; that your brother may live with you. 37 You shall not give him your money on interest, nor give him your food for increase. 38 I am Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your Elohim.

39 And if your brother has grown poor with you, and sells himself to you; you shall not make him to serve as a bond-servant. 40 As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with you; he shall serve with you to the year of jubilee: 41 then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and shall return to his own family, and to the possession of his fathers shall he return. 42 For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen. 43 You shall not rule over him with rigor, but shall fear your Elohim. 44 And as for your bondmen, and your bondmaids, whom you shall have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall you buy bondmen and bondmaids. 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them you shall buy, and of their families that are with you, which they have begotten in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46 And you shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall you take your bondmen forever: but over your brethren the children of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.

47 And if a stranger or sojourner with you has grown rich, and your brother has grown poor beside him, and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner with you, or to the stock of the stranger’s family; 48 after he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;

49 or his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is near of kin to him of his family may redeem him; or if he has grown rich, he may redeem himself. 50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he sold himself to him to the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him. 51 If there are still many years, according to them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. 52 And if there remains but few years to the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according to his years shall he give back the price of his redemption. 53 As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in your sight. 54 And if he is not redeemed by these means, then he Shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him. 55 For to me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

Leviticus 26

You shall make no idols, neither shall you rear up a graven image, or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am Yahweh your Elohim. 2 You shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yahweh.

3 If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; 4 then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 And I will have respect to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you. 10 And you shall eat old store long kept, and you shah bring forth the old because of the new. 11 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you, and will be your Elohim, and you shall be my people. 13 I am Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you shall not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

14 But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments; 15 and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant; 16 I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and consume the soul; and you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 And I will set my face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies: they that hate you shall rule over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you. 18 And if you will not yet for these things listen to me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 19 And I will break the pride of your power: and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as bronze; 20 and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.

21 And if you walk contrary to me, and will not listen to me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins. 22 And I will send the beast of the field among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your ways shall become desolate.

23 And if by these things you will not be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me; 24 then I will also walk contrary to you; and I will afflict you, even I, seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant; and you shall be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26 When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

27 And if you will not for all this listen to me, but walk contrary to me; 28 then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will punish you seven times for your sins. 29 And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. 30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun-images, and cast your dead bodies on the bodies of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you. 31 And I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors. 32 And I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell in it shall be astonished at it. 33 And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lies desolate, and you are in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths. 35 As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it had not in your sabbaths, when you dwelt on it. 36 And as for them that are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. 37 And they shall stumble one upon another, as it were before the sword, when none pursues: and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38 And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

40 And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me, 41 I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity; 42 then will I remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. 43 The land also shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, while it lies desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes. 44 And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their Elohim; 45 but I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their Elohim: I am Yahweh.

46 These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which Yahweh made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by Moses.

Leviticus 27

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When a man shall accomplish a vow, the persons shall be for Yahweh by your estimation. 3 And your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 4 And if it is a female, then your estimation shall be thirty shekels. 5 And if it is from five years old to twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6 And if it is from a month old to five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation shall be three shekels of silver. 7 And if it is from sixty years old and upward; if it is a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 8 But if he is poorer than your estimation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of him that vowed shall the priest value him.

9 And if it is a beast, of which men offer an oblation to Yahweh, all that any man gives of such to Yahweh shall be holy. 10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy. 11 And if it is any unclean beast, of which they do not offer an oblation to Yahweh, then he shall set the beast before the priest; 12 and the priest shall value it, whether it is good or bad: as you the priest value it, so shall it be. 13 But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to your estimation.

14 And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to Yahweh, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it is good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15 And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be his.

16 And if a man shall sanctify to Yahweh part of the field of his possession, then your estimation shall be according to the sowing of it: the sowing of a homer of barley shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. 17 If he sanctifies his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it shall stand. 18 But if he sanctifies his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the year of jubilee; and a reduction shall be made from your estimation. 19 And if he that sanctified the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be assured to him. 20 And if he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more: 21 but the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to Yahweh, as a field devoted; the possession of it shall be the priest’s. 22 And if he sanctifies to Yahweh a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession; 23 then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your estimation to the year of jubilee: and he shall give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to Yahweh. 24 In the year of jubilee the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs. 25 And all your estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.

26 Only the firstling among beasts, which is made a firstling to Yahweh, no man shall sanctify it; whether it is ox or sheep, it is Yahweh’s. 27 And if it is of an unclean beast, then he shall ransom it according to your estimation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation.

28 However, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to Yahweh of all that he has, whether of man or beast, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Yahweh. 29 No one devoted, that shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

30 And all the tithe of the land whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Yahweh’s: it is holy to Yahweh. 31 And if a man will redeem any of his tithe, he shall add to it the fifth part of it. 32 And all the tithe of the herd or the flock whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Yahweh. 33 He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it: and that for which it is changed shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

34 These are the commandments, which Yahweh commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
