Psalm 136

Oh give thanks to Yahweh; for he is good;

For his lovingkindness endures forever.

2 Oh give thanks to the Elohim of elohim;

For his lovingkindness endures forever.

3 Oh give thanks to the sovereign of Rulers;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

4 To him who alone does great wonders;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

5 To him that by understanding made the heavens;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

6 To him that spread forth the earth above the waters;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

7 To him that made great fights;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

8 The sun to rule by day;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

9 The moon and stars to rule by night;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

10 To him that struck Egypt in their firstborn;

For his lovingkindness endures forever;

11 And brought out Israel from among them;

For his lovingkindness endures forever;

12 With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

13 To him that divided the Red Sea into parts;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

14 And made Israel to pass through the middle of it;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

16 To him that led his people through the wilderness;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

17 To him that struck great kings;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

18 And killed famous kings;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

19 Sihon king of the Amorites;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

20 And Og king of Bashan;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

21 And gave their land for a heritage;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

22 Even a heritage to Israel his servant;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

23 Who remembered us in our low estate;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

24 And has delivered us from our adversaries;

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

25 Who gives food to all flesh:

For his lovingkindness endures forever:

26 Oh give thanks to the El of heaven:

For his lovingkindness endures forever.

Psalm 137

By the rivers of Babylon,

There we sat down, yes, we wept,

When we remembered Zion.

2 Upon the willows in the middle of it

We hung up our harps.

3 For there they that led us captive required of us songs,

And they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying,

Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 How shall we sing Yahweh’s song

In a foreign land?

5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem,

Let my right hand forget her skill.

6 Let my-tongue hold fast to the roof of my mouth,

If I remember you not;

If I prefer not Jerusalem

Above my chief joy.

7 Remember, O Yahweh, against the. children of Edom

The day of Jerusalem;

Who said, Raze it, raze it,

Even to the foundation of it.

8 O daughter of Babylon, that are to be destroyed,

Happy shall he be, that rewards you

As you have served us.

9 Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes your little ones

Against the rock.

Psalm 138

I will give you thanks with my whole heart:

Before the elohim will I sing praises to you.

2 I will worship toward your holy temple,

And give thanks to your name for your lovingkindness and for your truth:

For you have magnified your word; above all your name.

3 In the day that I called you answered me,

You did encourage me with strength in my soul.

4 All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Yahweh,

For they have heard the words of your mouth.

5 Yes, they shall sing of the ways of Yahweh;

For great is the glory of Yahweh.

6 For though Yahweh is high, yet has he respect to the lowly;

But the haughty he knows from afar.

7 Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me;

You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies,

And your right hand will save me,

8 Yahweh will perfect that which concerns me:

Your lovingkindness, O Yahweh, endures forever;

Forsake not the works of your own hands.
