Zechariah 10

Ask of Yahweh rain in the time of the latter rain, even of Yahweh that makes lightnings; and he will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. 2 For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams, they comfort in vain: therefore they go their way like sheep, they are afflicted, because there is no shepherd. 3 My anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the he-goats; for Yahweh of hosts has visited his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them as his good horse in the battle. 4 From him shall come forth the corner-stone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together. 5 And they shall be as mighty men, treading down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight, because Yahweh is with them; and the riders on horses shall be confounded. 6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back; for I have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Yahweh their Elohim, and I will hear them. 7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine; yes, their children shall see it, and rejoice; their heart shall be glad in Yahweh.

8 I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them; and they shall increase as they have increased. 9 And I will sow them among the peoples; and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and shall return. 10 I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them. 11 And he will pass through the sea of affliction, and will strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart. 12 And I will strengthen them in Yahweh; and they shall walk up and down in his name, says Yahweh.

Zechariah 11

Open your doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour your cedars. 2 Wail, O fir tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the good ones are destroyed: wail, O you oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has come down. 3 A voice of the wailing of the shepherds! For their glory is destroyed: a voice of the roaring of young lions! For the pride of the Jordan is laid waste.

4 In this manner said Yahweh my Elohim: Feed the flock of slaughter; 5 whose possessors kill them, and hold themselves not guilty; and they that sell them say, Blessed be Yahweh, for I am rich; and their own shepherds pity them not. 6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, says Yahweh; but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbor’s hand, and into the hand of his king; and they shall strike the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them. 7 So I fed the flock of slaughter, truly the poor of the flock. And I took to me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. 8 And I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me. 9 Then I said, I will not feed you: that which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let them that are left eat every one the flesh of another. 10 And I took my staff Beauty, and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples. 11 And it was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that gave heed to me knew that it was the word of Yahweh. 12 And I said to them, If you think good, give me my hire; and if not, refuse. So they weighed for my hire thirty pieces of silver. 13 And Yahweh said to me, Cast it to the potter, the good price that I was evaluated by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter, in the house of Yahweh. 14 Then I cut apart my other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15 And Yahweh said to me, Take to yourself yet again the instruments of a foolish shepherd. 16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who will not visit those that are cut off, neither will seek those that are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces. 17 Woe to the worthless shepherd that leaves the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

Zechariah 12

The burden of the word of Yahweh concerning Israel. In this manner says Yahweh, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the peoples all around, and upon Judah also shall it be in the siege against Jerusalem. 3 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples; all that burden themselves with it shall be severely wounded; and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it. 4 In that day, says Yahweh, I will strike every horse with terror, and his rider with madness; and I will open my eyes upon the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5 And the chieftains of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in Yahweh of hosts their Elohim. 6 In that day will I make the chieftains of Judah like a pan of fire among wood, and like a flaming torch among sheaves; and they shall devour all the peoples all around, on the right hand and on the left; and they of Jerusalem shall yet again dwell in their own place, even in Jerusalem. 7 Yahweh also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem be not magnified above Judah. 8 In that day shall Yahweh defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as Elohim, as the angel of Yahweh before them. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born. 11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. 12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; 13 the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart, the family of the Shimeites apart, and their wives apart; 14 all the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
