For the Chief Musician.
A Psalm of David.
Psalm 64
Hear my voice, O Elohim, in my complaint:
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,
From the tumult of the workers of iniquity:
3 Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword,
And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,
4 That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect:
Suddenly they shoot at him, and fear not.
5 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose;
They commune of laying snares privately;
They say, Who will see them?
6 They search out iniquities;
We have accomplished, they say, a diligent search:
And the inward thought and the heart of every one is deep.
7 But Elohim will shoot at them;
With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.
8 So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them:
All that see them shall wag the head.
9 And all men shall fear;
And they shall declare the work of Elohim,
And shall wisely consider of his doing.
10 The righteous shall be glad in Yahweh, and shall take refuge in him;
And all the upright in heart shall glory.
Psalm 65
Praise waits for you, O Elohim, in Zion;
And to you shall the vow be performed.
2 O you that hear prayer,
To you shall all flesh come.
3 Iniquities prevail against me:
As for our transgressions, you will forgive them.
4 Blessed is the man whom you choose, and cause to approach unto you,
That he may dwell in your courts:
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
Your holy temple.
5 By terrible things you will answer us in righteousness,
O Elohim of our salvation,
You that are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
And of them that are afar off upon the sea:
6 Who by his strength sets fast the mountains,
Being girded about with might;
7 Who stills the roaring of the seas,
The roaring of their waves,
And the tumult of the peoples.
8 They also that dwell in the utmost parts are afraid at your tokens:
You make the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.
9 You visit the earth, and water it,
You greatly enrich it;
The river of Elohim is full of water:
You provide them grain, when you have so prepared the earth.
10 You water its furrows abundantly;
You settle the ridges of it:
You make it soft with showers;
You bless the springing of it.
11 You crown the year with your goodness;
And your paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness;
and the hills are girded with joy.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks;
The valleys also are covered over with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.
Psalm 66
Make a joyful noise to Elohim, all the earth:
2 Sing forth the glory of his name:
Make his praise glorious.
3 Say to Elohim, How terrible are your works!
Through the greatness of your power shall your enemies submit themselves to you.
4 All the earth shall worship you,
And shall sing to you;
They shall sing to your name.
Selah
5 Come, and see the works of Elohim;
He is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
6 He turned the sea into dry land;
They went through the river on foot:
There we rejoiced in him.
7 He rules by his might forever;
His eyes observe the nations:
Let not the rebellious exalt themselves.
Selah
8 Oh bless our Elohim, you peoples,
And make the voice of his praise to be heard;
9 Who holds our soul in life,
And suffers not our feet to be moved.
10 For you, O Elohim, have proved us:
You have tried us, as silver is tried.
11 You brought us into the net;
You laid a severe burden upon our loins.
12 You caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water;
But you brought us out into a wealthy place.
13 I will come into your house with burnt-offerings;
I will pay you my vows,
14 Which my lips uttered,
And my mouth spoke, when I was in distress.
15 I will offer to you burnt-offerings of fatlings,
With the incense of rams;
I will offer bullocks with goats.
Selah
16 Come, and hear, all you that fear Elohim,
And I will declare what he has done for my soul.
17 I cried to him with my mouth,
And he was extolled with my tongue.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart,
Yahweh will not hear:
19 But truly Elohim has heard;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be Elohim,
Who has not turned away my prayer,
Nor his lovingkindness from me.
