Psalm 46-48

Psalm 46

Elohim is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will we not fear, though the earth changes,

And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;

3 Though the waters of it roar and be troubled,

Though the mountains tremble with the swelling of it.

Selah

4 There is a river, the streams of which make glad the city of Elohim,

The holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

5 Elohim is in the middle of her; she shall not be moved:

Elohim will help her, and that right early.

6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved:

He uttered his voice, the earth melted,

7 Yahweh of hosts is with us;

The Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.

Selah

8 Come, behold the works of Yahweh,

What desolations he has made in the earth.

9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;

He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear in pieces;

He burns the chariots in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am Elohim:

I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 Yahweh of hosts is with us;

The Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.

Psalm 47

Oh clap your hands, all you peoples;

Shout to Elohim with the voice of triumph.

2 For Yahweh Most High is terrible;

He is a great King over all the earth.

3 He subdues peoples under us.

And nations under our feet.

4 He chooses our inheritance for us,

The glory of Jacob whom he loved.

Selah

5 Elohim has gone up with a shout,

Yahweh with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises:

Sing praises to our King, sing praises.

7 For Elohim is the King of all the earth:

Sing you praises with understanding.

8 Elohim reigns over the nations:

Elohim sits upon his holy throne.

9 The princes of the peoples are gathered together

To be the people of the Elohim of Abraham:

For the shields of the earth belong to Elohim;

He is greatly exalted.

Psalm 48

Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised,

In the city of our Elohim, in his holy mountain.

2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,

Is mount Zion, on the sides of the north.

The city of the great King.

3 Elohim has made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 For, lo, the kings assembled themselves,

They passed by together.

5 They saw it, then were they amazed;

They were dismayed, they hurried away.

6 Trembling took hold of them there,

Pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 With the east wind

You break the ships of Tarshish.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen

In the city of Yahweh of hosts, in the city of our Elohim:

Elohim will establish it forever.

Selah

9 We have thought on your lovingkindness, O Elohim,

In the middle of your temple.

10 As is your name, O Elohim,

So is your praise to the ends of the earth:

Your right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Let mount Zion be glad. Let the daughters of Judah rejoice,

Because of your judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, and go all around her;

Number the towers of it;

13 Mark you well her bulwarks;

Consider her palaces:

That you may tell it to the generation following.

14 For this Elohim is our Elohim for ever and ever:

He will be our guide even unto death.
