Psalm 109
Hold not your peace, O Elohim of my praise;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me:
They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.
3 They have compassed me about also with words of hatred,
And fought against me without a cause.
4 For my love they are my adversaries:
But I give myself to prayer.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good,
And hatred for my love.
6 Set a wicked man over him;
And let an adversary stand at his right hand
7 When he is judged, let him come forth as guilty;
And let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Let his days be few;
And let another take his office.
9 let his children be fatherless,
And his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg;
And let them seek their bread out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he has;
And let strangers make plunder of his labor.
12 Let there be no one to extend kindness to him;
Neither let there be any to have pity on his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off;
In the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Yahweh;
And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before Yahweh continually,
That he may cut off the memory of them from the earth;
16 Because he remembered not to show kindness,
But persecuted the poor and needy man,
And the broken in heart, to kill them.
17 Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him;
And he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him.
18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment,
And it came into his inward parts like water,
And like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be to him as the raiment with which he covers himself,
And for the girdle with which he is girded continually.
20 This is the reward of my adversaries from Yahweh,
And of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 But deal with me, O Yahweh the Sovereign, for your name’s sake:
Because your lovingkindness is good, deliver me;
22 For I am poor and needy,
And my heart is wounded within me.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it declines:
I am tossed up and down as the locust.
24 My knees are weak through fasting;
And my flesh fails of fatness.
25 I have become also a reproach to them:
When they see me, they shake their head.
26 Help me, O Yahweh my Elohim;
Oh save me according to your lovingkindness:
27 That they may know that this is your hand;
That you, Yahweh, have done it.
28 Let them curse, but bless you:
When they arise, they shall be put to shame,
But your servant shall rejoice.
29 Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor,
And let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.
30 I will give great thanks to Yahweh with my mouth;
Yes, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 For he will stand at the right hand of the needy,
To save him from them that judge his soul.
A Psalm of David.
Psalm 110
Yahweh says to my Sovereign,
Sit at my right hand,
Until I make your enemies your footstool.
2 Yahweh will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion:
Rule in the midst of your enemies.
3 Your people offer themselves willingly
In the day of your power, in holy array:
Out of the womb of the morning
You have the dew of your youth.
4 Yahweh has sworn, and will not repent:
You are a priest forever
After the order of Melchizedek.
5 Yahweh at your right hand
Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He will judge among the nations,
He will fill the places with dead bodies;
He will strike through the head in many countries.
7 He will drink of the brook in the way:
Therefore will he lift up the head.
Psalm 111
HalleluYah!
I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart,
In the council of the upright, and in the congregation.
2 The works of Yahweh are great,
Sought out of all them that have pleasure in it.
3 His work is honor and majesty;
And his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has made his wonderful works to be remembered:
Yahweh is gracious and merciful.
5 He has given food to them that fear him:
He will ever be mindful of his covenant.
6 He has showed his people the power of his works,
In giving them the heritage of the nations.
7 The works of his hands are truth and justice;
All his precepts are sure.
8 They are established for ever and ever;
They are done in truth and uprightness.
9 He has sent redemption to his people;
He has commanded his covenant forever:
Holy and reverend is his name.
10 The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
His praise endures forever.
