John 16
These things have I spoken to you, that you should not be caused to stumble. 2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yes, the hour comes, that whoever kills you shall think that he offers service to Elohim. 3 And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me. 4 But these things have I spoken to you, that when their hour has come, you may remember them, how that I told you. And these things I said not to you from the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I go to him that sent me; and none of you asks me, Where are you going? 6 But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go, I will send it to you. 8 And it, when it has come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you behold me no more; 11 of judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged. 12 I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when it, the Spirit of truth, has come, it shall guide you into all the truth: for it shall not speak from itself; but whatever things it shall hear, these it shall speak: and it shall declare to you the things that are to come. 14 It shall glorify me: for it shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you. 15 All things whatever the Father has are mine: therefore said I, that he takes of mine, and shall declare it unto you. 16 A little while, and you behold me no more; and again a little while, and you shall see me. 17 Some of his disciples therefore said one to another, What is this that he says to us, A little while, and you behold me not; and again a little while, and you shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? 18 They said therefore, What is this that he says, A little while? We know not what he says. 19 Yahshua perceived that they were desirous to ask him, and he said to them, Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, A little while, and you behold me not, and again a little while, and you shall see me? 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, that you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. 21 A woman when she is in travail has sorrow, because her hour has come: but when she is delivered of the child, she remembers no more the anguish, for the joy that a man is born into the world. 22 And you therefore now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one takes away from you. 23 And in that day you shall ask me no question. Truly, truly, I say to you, If you shall ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be made full.
25 These things have I spoken to you in dark sayings: the hour comes, when I shall no more speak to you in dark sayings, but shall tell you plainly of the Father. 26 In that day you shall ask in my name: and I say not to you, that I will pray the Father for you; 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from the Father. 28 I came out from the Father, and have come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. 29 His disciples say, Lo, now speak you plainly, and speak no dark saying. 30 Now we know that you know all things, and need not that any man should ask you: by this we believe that you came forth from Yahweh. 31 Yahshua answered them, Do you now believe? 32 Behold the hour comes, yes, has come, that you shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 33 These things have I spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 17
These things spoke Yahshua; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son, that the Son may glorify you: 2 even as you gave him authority over all flesh, that to all whom you have given him, he should give eternal life. 3 And this is life eternal, that they should know you the only true Elohim, and him whom you did send, even Yahshua the Messiah. 4 I glorified you on the earth, having accomplished the work which you have given me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify you me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world was. 6 I manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world: yours they were, and you gave them to me; and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that all things whatever you have given me are from you: 8 for the words which you gave me I have given to them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from you, and they believed that you did send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom you have given me; for they are yours: 10 and all things that are mine are yours, and yours are mine: and I am glorified in them. 11 And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name which you have given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I come to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves. 14 I have given them your word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that you should take them from the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth: your word is truth. 18 As you did send me into the world, even so I sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. 20 Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that you did send me. 22 And the glory which you have given me I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one; 23 I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you did send me, and loved them, even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world knew you not, but I knew you; and these knew that you did send me; 26 and I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
John 18
When Yahshua had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where was a garden, into which he entered, himself and his disciples. 2 Now Judah also, who betrayed him, knew the place: for Yahshua frequently resorted there with his disciples. 3 Judah then, having received the band of soldiers, and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons. 4 Yahshua therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon him, went forth, and says to them, Whom do you seek? 5 They answered him, Yahshua of Nazareth. Yahshua says to them, I am he. And Judah also, who betrayed him, was standing with them. 6 When therefore he said to them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. 7 Again therefore he asked them, Whom do you seek? And they said, Yahshua of Nazareth. 8 Yahshua answered, I told you that I am he; if therefore you seek me, let these go their way: 9 that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, Of those whom you have given me I lost not one. 10 Simon Peter therefore having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. Now the servant’s name was Malchus. 11 Yahshua therefore said to Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath: the cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
12 So the band and the chief captain, and the officers of the Jews, seized Yahshua and bound him, 13 and led him to Annas first; for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. 14 Now Caiaphas was he that gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 And Simon Peter followed Yahshua, and so did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Yahshua into the court of the high priest; 16 but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. 17 The maid therefore that kept the door says to Peter, Are you also one of this man’s disciples? He says, I am not. 18 Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals; for it was cold; and they were warming themselves: and Peter also was with them, standing and warming himself.
19 The high priest therefore asked Yahshua of his disciples, and of his teaching. 20 Yahshua answered him, I have spoken openly to the world; I ever taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and in secret spoke I nothing. 21 Why do you ask me? ask them that have heard me, what I spoke to them: behold, these know the things which I said. 22 And when he had said this, one of the officers standing by struck Yahshua with his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so? 23 Yahshua answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why do you strike me? 24 Annas therefore sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, Are you also one of his disciples? he denied, and said, I am not. 26 One of the servants of the high priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, says, Did not I see you in the garden with him? 27 Peter therefore denied again: and straightway the cock crew.
28 They led Yahshua therefore from Caiaphas into the Pretorium: and it was early; and they themselves entered not into the Pretorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover. 29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and says, What accusation do you bring against this man? 30 They answered and said to him, If this man were not an evil-doer, we should not have delivered him up to You, 31 Pilate therefore said to them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: 32 that the word of Yahshua might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what manner of death he should die.
33 Pilate therefore entered again into the Pretorium, and called Yahshua, and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews? 34 Yahshua answered, Do you say this of yourself, or did others tell it you concerning me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me: what have you done? 36 Yahshua answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from here. 37 Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Yahshua answered, You say that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end have I come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. 38 Pilate says to him, What is truth?
And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and says to them, I find no crime in him. 39 But you have a custom, that I should release to you one at the passover: will you therefore that I release to you the King of the Jews? 40 They cried out therefore again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
