Psalm 28-30

Voiced by Amazon Polly

Psalm 28

To you, O Yahweh, will I call:

My rock, be not deaf to me;

Lest, if you are silent to me,

I become like them that go down into the pit.

2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry to you,

When I lift up my hands toward your holy oracle.

3 Draw me not away with the wicked.

And with the workers of iniquity;

That speak peace with their neighbors,

But mischief is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness

of their doings:

Give them after the operation of their hands;

Render to them their desert.

5 Because they regard not the works of Yahweh,

Nor the operation of his hands,

He will break them down and not build them up.

6 Blessed be Yahweh,

Because he has heard the voice of my supplications.

7 Yahweh is my strength and my shield;

My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped:

Therefore my heart greatly rejoices;

And with my song will I praise him.

8 Yahweh is their strength,

And he is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

9 Save your people, and bless your inheritance:

Be their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.

A Psalm of David.

Psalm 29

Ascribe to Yahweh, O you sons of El,

Ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.

2 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name;

Worship Yahweh in holy array.

3 The voice of Yahweh is upon the waters:

The El of glory thunders,

Even Yahweh upon many waters.

4 The voice of Yahweh is powerful;

The voice of Yahweh is full of majesty.

5 The voice of Yahweh breaks the cedars;

Yes, Yahweh breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He makes them also to skip like a calf;

Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.

7 The voice of Yahweh divides the flames of fire.

8 The voice of Yahweh shakes the wilderness;

Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 The voice of Yahweh makes the hinds to calve,

And strips the forests bare:

And in his temple everything says, Glory.

10 Yahweh sat as King at the Flood;

Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever.

11 Yahweh will give strength to his people;

Yahweh will bless his people with peace.

A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House.

A Psalm of David.

Psalm 30

I will extol you, O Yahweh; for you have raised me up,

And have not made my foes to rejoice over me,

2 O Yahweh my Elohim,

I cried to you, and you have healed me.

3 O Yahweh, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;

You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4 Sing praise to Yahweh, O you saints of his

And give thanks to his holy memorial name.

5 For his anger is but for a moment:

His favor is for a life-time:

Weeping may stay for the night,

But joy comes in the morning.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,

I shall never be moved.

7 You, Yahweh, of your favor had made my mountain to stand strong:

You hid your face; I was troubled.

8 I cried to you, O Yahweh;

And to Yahweh I made supplication:

9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?

Shall the dust praise you?

Shall it declare the truth?

10 Hear, O Yahweh, and have mercy upon me:

Yahweh, be my helper.

11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;

You have loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to you, and not be silent.

O Yahweh my Elohim, I will give thanks to you forever.
