1 Chronicles 28
And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that served the king by course, and the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officers, and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, to Jerusalem. 2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and for the footstool of our Elohim; and I had made ready for the building. 3 But Elohim said to me, You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood. 4 However Yahweh, the Elohim of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever: for he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel; 5 and of all my sons, (for Yahweh has given me many sons,) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel. 6 And he said to me, Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. 7 And I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my ordinances, as at this day. 8 Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the audience of our Elohim, observe and seek out all the commandments of Yahweh your Elohim; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.
9 And you, Solomon my son, know you the Elohim of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Yahweh searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. 10 Take heed now; for Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch of the temple, and of the houses of it, and of the treasuries of it, and of the upper rooms of it, and of the innerchambers of it, and of the place of the mercy-seat; 12 and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the house of Yahweh, and for all the chambers all around, for the treasuries of the house of Elohim, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things; 13 also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Yahweh, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Yahweh; 14 of gold by weight for the vessels of gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; of silver for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service; 15 by weight also for the candlesticks of gold, and for the lamps of it, of gold, by weight for every candlestick and for the lamps of it; and for the candlesticks of silver, silver by weight for every candlestick and for the lamps of it, according to the use of every candlestick; 16 and the gold by weight for the tables of showbread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver; 17 and the flesh-hooks, and the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl; 18 and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot, even the cherubim, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of Yahweh. 19 All this, said David, I have been made to understand in writing from the hand of Yahweh, even all the works of this pattern.
20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed; for Yahweh Elohim, even my Elohim, is with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of Yahweh is finished. 21 And, behold, there are the courses of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of the house of Elohim: and there shall be with you in all manner of work every willing man that has skill, for any manner of service: also the captains and all the people will be wholly at your commandment.
1 Chronicles 29
And David the king said to all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone Elohim has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Yahweh Elohim. 2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my Elohim the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. 3 Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my Elohim, seeing that I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my Elohim, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, 4 even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses; 5 of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of skilled workers. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to Yahweh?
6 Then the princes of the fathers’ houses, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly; 7 and they gave for the service of the house of Elohim of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of bronze eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents. 8 And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Yahweh, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Yahweh: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
10 Therefore David blessed Yahweh before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be you, O Yahweh, the Elohim of Israel our father, forever and ever. 11 Yours, O Yahweh, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come of you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and in your hand it is to make great, and to give strength to all. 13 Now therefore, our Elohim, we thank you, and praise your glorious name. 14 But who am I, and what are my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you, and of your own have we given you. 15 For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining. 16 O Yahweh our Elohim, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes of your hand, and is all your own. 17 I know also, my Elohim, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you. 18 O Yahweh, the Elohim of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart to you; 19 and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.
20 And David said to all the assembly, Now bless Yahweh your Elohim. And all the assembly blessed Yahweh, the Elohim of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshiped Yahweh, and the king. 21 And they sacrificed sacrifices to Yahweh, and offered burnt-offerings to Yahweh, on the next day after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel, 22 and ate and drank before Yahweh on that day with great gladness.
And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to Yahweh to be prince, and Zadok to be priest. 23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of Yahweh as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him. 24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves to Solomon the king. 25 And Yahweh magnified Solomon greatly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
26 Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel. 27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and thirty-three years he reigned in Jerusalem. 28 And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his place. 29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer, 30 with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
